who said anything about mulholland or azuza? hehe, i'm not gonna name the roads i'm thinking of. don't want to ruin them, especially with all the extra traffic on this forum.

I only want this car because of fast canyon/touge driving and I hope itīs gonna comply my expecations but I am a little afraid that itīs not gonna give me the same satisfaction as the MR2 gives me (I know, diffrent setups) so I still hope for it!

I never said that.

I said less than 7 seconds to 60 is a reasonable benchmark (ideally 6 flat or just over).

If the car cannot get out of it's own way, it's not going to be hit.

The FT-86 is only a theoretical competitor with the Miata, which is a 2-seater roadster. The MRS was a direct competitor for that niche, and in a similar price range, and it is no longer with us.

Toyota's FT-86 is going to be competing with other sporty cars that cost about the same (inlcuding, ironically, the Subaru variant) -- period. That is the market. It will be too expensive for the Scion crowd who will continue to buy coilovers for their hideously ugly, slow toasters.

Please tell me you are kidding.

If not, do everyone in your neck of the woods a favor and stay off the fucking road.

All right, I'm done annoying everyone with my unpopular views

But... I have one more prediction: If the car becomes notorious for being underpowered, 75% of owners will build and turbo it within the first 2 years.

And the other 25% will envy them

The worst is watching, feel and listening to a girl try to deal with a heavy duty clutch for the first time......

I said Americans want to go fast in a straight line -- Look at NASA lol (huge exaggeration but come on, it was good) 200 miles in 4 minutes plz.

There are different strokes for different folks but we're seeing a lot of "you can't call a torqueless wonder a sports car" where its been proven and accepted that you can.

Just like we see a lot of (I'm guilty of this) "Torque monsters are only good for drag races". The driver dictates how to use the car, the car is a medium to do anything the driver wants. Thats something I forgot, and forget way to often. There are different cars with different strengths, but no one says the S2K can't be a drag king and no one said a Mustang can't be a track god.

And then theres people like you who will buy the best bargain, and then turn it into what he wants. Which is wonderful, but a lot of people including myself do not have the money or the time to spend on such projects so it would make sense to get it all in one affordable package, which the FT is offering us at the moment. Assuming they keep it light, and ~200bhp.

You original reply sounded like a generalization, which prompted my reply.

My wife drove our 6spd 350z daily to work.

The stigma about "chick car" is played out. Everything below a GTR is pretty much a chick car, and everything above a GTR that's a family sedan or luxury vehicle is a Soccer mom car.

Face it gentlemen, women have good taste.

Hopefully, they'll go back to v1 as it looks like it could be a light weight car and not a heavy puffer-fish...

Dude I don't see what's wrong with that, I would love a Girl that has the same car as me and is also active in the same car club as I am like FT86Club here. It would be cool even nice if she's competitive too.

I just don't want things to go bad and go all dramatic cause then it's just gets dumb once it gets on the net ya know.

Oh we get harassed about that in VA too, I got stopped for my Si's exhaust for being too loud and I had a silencer on. It was only a 2.5 canister cat back and I still have my cat too it wasn't a straight pipe or anything.

Asuza seems like a nice and quiet city though, love that it's got a great view and is surrounded by mountains. I still would have to say I'm jealous of west coast. I was looking into those housing developments that's happening over there, 300K for a big single home is a good price compared to the expensive houses here in DC, 300K will buy you a small town house here.

Though the law on cars over there is tougher I believe.
