I had GPS issues with Track Addict as did a guy paddocked next to me. Worked fine in some sessions and agreed with the data tag (wanted to confirm that it worked so I can avoid that cost in the future). My fastest was a 1:44.8, but generally I was running 1:45-46s on open laps. Lots of traffic this weekend but I was still 6 seconds faster than last fall on stock suspension and tires, lol.

My instructor pretty much insisted that I get better brakes before doing another event as it's becoming a safety concern and also affecting my ability to modulate as I've had to step up to such aggressive pads. I can't argue that, I noticed the XP12s were noticeably more difficult to release smoothly into the loop curve.

It's only money, right?

I do wish I had found you to chat about the brakes in person or get a ride along. Next time...

1:44.8 is quick for an NA Twin! I was chatting with an instructor (grey S2000 pitted next to me) and that's not too far off what he was running on slicks. Crazy that you got 6 seconds from just RE71R's and Ohlins. Come join us in yellow

I was staying off of the kerbing too, so there's more time to be made especially at the corkscrew by braking less then hopping the kerb instead of braking more driving around it, then WOT before nailing the brakes again. Yeah, HUGE difference in car behavior. So much easier to drive when the car is 100% neutral. I'll be in yellow next time

Sorry for the OT On topic, my brakes were literally my only real issue all weekend. Sounds like the RR brakes fix that

total noob question here, but when it comes time to replace my pads, how do i figure out what other pads will fit my brakes? i have the sport performance kit which uses the wilwood 4pots up front and have the 0.8" thick version of bp10 pads which i do like, but wondering what my other options are out there and how to figure it out when the time comes...

thanks!

The Sport Performance kit uses these pads: http://www.wilwood.com/BrakePads/Bra...x?padtype=7420

However, you can always use thinner pads like Wilwood's 7416, but you lose some of the pad's "meat" obviously.

This pad shape is the same one used for the AP Sprint kit, also used for certain Stoptech BBKs, etc. Do some searching around on the forums and on google for alternatives to wilwood's 7420 pads

Plenty of pad choices out there

thanks for replying! i know mine uses the 7420's but i couldnt find solid obvious (or maybe it is obvious, but just not to me lol) posts to figure out how to determine what other brand pads fit. i read thru both wilwood and rr-racing's sites but just unsure how to figure it out. maybe im just thinking this is more complicated than it really is? haha

how do you (me in this case i guess) know the pad shape? they all more or less look the same to me lol.

basically what made me wonder and start digging around was if the winmax w2 pads will work. i consider myself pretty good at googling info and searching thru forum posts, but man i guess my lack of brake knowledge is worse than i thought LOL

Pretty much every major pad manufacturer will offer pads in shapes that will fit the BBK, you just need to ask your brake pad retailer for the compound in pad shape 7420 and they can probably get it for you.

There are pad cross reference sites out there, just gotta look Just knowing that the same pad fits the AP kit should tell you a lot

CSG sells the W2, BTW. Not sure if the RR kit uses D50 radial depth or D41 though.

D50: http://counterspacegarage.com/winmax...p8350-d50.html

D41: http://counterspacegarage.com/winmax...p8350-d41.html

do you already have the wheels? if so, there's a template you can print out and test fit.

that said, tc105 in those specs should fit

The TC105N series wheels are known for awesome brake clearance. I'm not sure anyone has tested the stage 2/4 kit specifically with the 17x9 +35 wheel but I'm sure it will fit since the Stoptech 328mm kit is huge and is known to fit behind that wheel.

Source: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19756.

I will also mention that I'm using a 17x8 +35 TC105N replica with the sport performance kit and I have plenty of clearance with this wheel. The real things 17x9 +35 should have even better clearance.

Stage 2 and 4 have the same dimensions that affect wheel fitment, just swaps the rotors for two piece for better cooling.

Stage 2 should be a bit better than Stage 1 on track as it has thicker pads that allow for more wear as well as better insulating the caliper due to the extra pad material. Probably not a noticeable difference other than in pad life.
