I set mine to 8000 but it didn't do shit.

I actually taught a night course on EH&S law at the local college for a few years. My opening line was always "I am not going to instruct you on a single law in this class but when we are done you will know exactly where to find what you need, when you need it." I'm still breaking my car in and find it very helpful. I've set it at 3500 so it's just a touch under the recommended 4000. I do find myself hitting that point quite often which shows just how hungry the car is for higher revs despite not having the best acceleration.
