I think in all New England states its required, but I have never run one. I have been pulled over for it...got a warning. I just think the front of the car looks 'right' without it.

Never had a front plate on any of my cars. Never had a problem other than a warning here and there. Never moving out of Texas.

I have never had a front plate in my life and never had any issues. Then again, in FL they don't require one...lol

Entirely correct.

"CVC 5201. (a) The rear license plate shall be mounted not less than 12
inches nor more than 60 inches from the ground, and the front license
plate shall be mounted not more than 60 inches from the ground
,
except as follows: ...A bunch of towing/hauling exceptions"

Cal even have rules about headlamp aiming and illumination, a lot of rules actually...

"CVC 24400. (a) A motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, shall be equipped
with at least two headlamps, with at least one on each side of the front of the
vehicle, and, except as to vehicles registered prior to January 1, 1930, they shall
be located directly above or in advance of the front axle of the vehicle. The
headlamps and every light source in any headlamp unit shall be located
at a height of not more than 54 inches nor less than 22 inches."

"CVC 24407. Multiple-beam road lighting equipment shall be designed and aimed as follows:
(a) There shall be an uppermost distribution of light, or composite beam, so aimed and
of such intensity as to reveal persons and vehicles at a distance of at least 350 feet
ahead for all conditions of loading.

(b) There shall be a lowermost distribution of light, or composite beam so aimed and of
sufficient intensity to reveal a person or vehicle at a distance of at least 100 feet ahead.
On a straight level road under any condition of loading none of the high intensity portion of the
beam shall be directed to strike the eyes of an approaching driver."

Oh, Cal, what won't you regulate.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with this in PA. My wife lived in SoCal for a few years, your cops are brutal. She got pulled over twice within the 1st 2 weeks of being there while waiting on Cali's DoT to issue her new plates.
