Referring to this as a GC is kind of pissing me off. GC is for 1st gen Imprezas, dammit!
How 'bout someone finds out what Hyundai's chassis code for this thing is and then called it by that? Then you could be KDM, yo!

Also, Wikipedia says it's a "BK platform code". But that makes me think of Burger King. :P

But ya, my friend owned a Hyundai Tiburon and blew the motor like 3 times. They replaced it every single time without question, even though he had installed a turbo kit and some other things. My Kia has a 10 yr/100k mile warranty and that's the main reason I bought it. Only thing that has went wrong with it is the horn, not sure what's up with that but I need to get it fixed. |

I had two buddies that were stationed with me I'n AR, they each had hyundai's and both were brand new and fell apart, the engine IMO was a waste, I mean really who builds a V6 that has less HP then a civic......

Honda has built the K20 series which are fantastic engines and when turbo'd you get great amounts more of power, and as for Toyota I'll give you that, they have been slacking but good stuff is on it's way, FT..... Granted I know it's a scooby engine, how about 2jz....1jz.... Yes I know they need to pick it back up, but we will see

I'm not saying they arnt trying, they are and I applaud them for that, but I'm just saying I'n the same sence as they are building good power I hope it's built well and not cheaply, because everyone can make power fairly cheaply but that dosnt mean that it was built well, just hope there car lasts, that's all I'm saying

Lol, I always refer to Genesis Coupes as GC's, but yes, they are BKs.
As for reliability, there are always good and bad stories about Hyundai reliability, but that goes for a lot of car companies. In the last few years the company (Hyundai) has made great strides in quality and engineering. They have made more changes and innovations that many other companies out there and were one of three companies to actually increase sales during the economic downturn. Not to mention, the companies we all supposedly trust for best reliability and safety are the ones starting to really fall behind. Now, true they sell the most cars, but % wise, how much more reliable are they than Kia or Hyundai? For example, from Car and Driver: ![]() Now, take that with a grain of salt, but just goes to show how the big companies are having issues keeping up with product development. http://www.mycarstats.com/reports/recalls.aspx Take a gander at this site, pretty much sums all recalls up by model. Now, that being said, just because a car has no recalls does not mean that the model in question has no issues. Just food for thought, I'm glad that I have started some convo on this forum. Keeps us busy while we wait for news for Toyota.

^^ Here here, sometimes these types of conversations will keep you entertained for a long time and before you know it ft-86 info will show up
![]() Now did you know that Hyundai is one of only 3 manufacturers to design it's own 6 speed automatic? Did you also know that the engine block inside the Mitsubishi Evo X, Caliber SRT-4, and the Genesis Coupe Turbo are all made & designed by Hyundai? |

You mean Mitsubishi? That's basically a 4B11 with less Epic.
