However, if somebody who just putts around all day starts talking like that then it's getting stupid.

I don't like the way FWD behaves under strain and I routinely strain the things I drive. For me FWD is a compromise that I am not willing to invest in. I know people who really dig the way FWD behaves and there is a way to drive it that can really make the platform perform. I'll never question their love of their preferred weapon because it works for them.

More of a philosophical rub, though, the turbo. Honda, in my mind, is always going to be about tasty NA engines screaming for blood. I love turbo, but if I had a Honda I would want a nasty little NA motor.

That's why my dream Honda is an S2000 or an NSX.

This is a valid point, and a fair argument.

While I can agree that the FRS needs a bit more punch (I have OFT + header and am pretty satisfied now), I won't dismiss the car like people of other communities will cause it's a great car. Not the best, but great. It's a blank canvas to make it your own and for the price, there isn't much else out there that offers the same level of flexibility.

I won't buy an older integra or something similar for that matter cause it doesn't suit what I want out of a car either. However, I can't deny that those cars are fantastic for the type of vehicle they are and the year they were produced.

Sorry I can't bash on civic type r..... My bro wants one.. He deserves it but I like 86 better. I like how it drove when I took it for a test drive and when it first caught my eye

I've been through a bunch of fwd cars and the only one that was truly fun was an old 1981 Civic. That car was a freakin' hoot on back roads in the desert and dirt roads were silly good fun. All of the others were too much work to drive hard, everything ended up feeling unnatural. Something about traction, braking and steering all happening in the same place just doesn't work for me. That's not to say that I haven't had my doors blown off by some fwd cars over the years but you'd have to pay me to own another one. RWD or AWD for me but, and this is a big but, not all AWD is created equal. Even Subaru doesn't get it right a lot of the time...

What I said was:

I LAUGH WHEN PEOPLE DISMISS A CAR ALTOGETHER SIMPLY BECAUSE IT IS FWD. That's it.

Civic type R. "FWD. Fail", yet it destroys some pretty highly sought after performance cars around the track.

Focus ST. "FWD. Fail", yet it bested the Subaru WRX and FRS around the track.

The list goes on and on. I have not once said that fwd is better. I'm saying it's pretty damn ignorant to simply blow off a car cause it's front wheel drive. The sub 30k price tag market has some pretty good bang for buck vehicles that are FWD. Would I buy one? Probably not (already own an ST), but I can appreciate a good car, regardless of the make or drive layout.

As far as modifications go, that's apples to oranges. Anything is possible with enough money.

You can say front wheel drive sucks cause an integra will never be able to hold a slide like an FRS with rear wheel drive. Ok, I'm the same aspect; the FRS sucks cause it will never be able to launch like an all wheel drive GTR.
It's because for some reason car enthusiasts have severe tribalism. Their car is the bestest and everyone else's car sucks balls.

Also I think it's because for some reason, some people feel like their manhood threatened if their car doesn't compare well to another car. So on this forum, everyone rationalizes the twins to be the super-bestest-sports-car-ever.

All the 4 doors that are faster on the track? NOT A SPORTS CAR, 4 DOORS
All the 2 seaters that are faster on the track? I BOUGHT THE CAR FOR 4 SEATS
All the convertibles that are faster? SPORTS CARS NEED ROOFS
All the >40k cars that are faster? SLAP IN A TURBO AND THE TWINS WIN
All the >3000 lb cars that are faster? LOL!! PIGS!!!
All the high hp cars that are faster in the corners? ONLY GOOD FOR QUARTER MILE
All the 4wd cars that are faster? LOL!! PIGS!!!
All the fwd cars that are faster? LOL FAIL WHEEL DRIVE

Basically, the only car people are willing to compare in the same breath are miatas, because they are slower. I'm just hoping the new miata gets put into CS in solo2, and beats all the twins, so they qq again the next year like they did to the 370z. Then the miata will get transfered to the "2 seater" and "convertible" category and there will be no more cars to compare it to.

I found another ad making fun of fwd

Too bad Volvo didn't stick to their guns, I'd definitely rock a RWD S60 or V70 R

Nothing wrong with FWD to me from a driving enthusiast standpoint who doesn't just see everything about trivial numbers. Just dem feels.

I miss my 90s Hondas and being pulled around corners and having the HP to have fun, with the lack of torque so to not spin half used cheap all seasons/torque steering into curbs.

My WRX understeers quite a bit but makes up for it by ripping out of turns rather fast. I don't think its as fun as using momentum/gravity to guide it though. The pulling sensation is nice coming from mainly gutless cars though.

Never did track my dc2 Integra but this is probably the same idea. I loved it in snow. I could easily persuade the rear to kick out just like a RWD by inputting more into the steering wheel and, voila, over-steer! No hand brake required. In dry conditions I imagine the same but with a lot more weight transfer to the front involved via braking etc.

Properly sorted FWD can be a joy to drive. Fiesta ST is my case in point. And Integra.

Im sorry FWD for me = NO

FWD feels different from RWD at even normal speeds. On the track no comparison. I couldnt care less if it has more power or goes faster on the track. Remember someone will always have a a faster car than you. So that argument to me holds no water

Im going for the way the car feels RWD does it for me FWD not. A lot of persons here feel the same way
