I don't own one yet, but it's no harm in dreaming... but just having a fun car again, and I want to take it around the track 3-4 times a year.

Living in Bako, I have the option of taking many scenic backroads to much nicer places in California. Lake Isabella / The Sequoias, Paso Robles / Napa, etc.

Sadly I haven't done that since getting the car due to work. Second weekend of March I'm taking a 2 hour road trip to Lake Isabella to do some sightseeing. It's all on this back road:

Can't wait.

I am not worried about sand and salt anymore as my last 3 cars drove many winters with no ill effects (they are not 1980s Fords anymore). I am lucky to be in an area with pretty good roads though so that could certainly be a consideration for you.
Bad drivers exist all the time not just winter and that is what insurance is for.
Probably the clincher for me not worrying about driving in the winter is that I only keep my cars 4 years and move on to the next anyway so I am not trying to protect it and would rather be driving!

When I get mine, I'm not planning to put it in autocross and tanacross until the next year because I plan to at least get it ready for it. It doesn't mean I won't have fun taking it around corners though.

I might be in the market for a second (or even third) one by then, so I might just buy yours off of you. We'll see.

Rubbles convert well right? I know USD doesn't.

You may not want it by then!
Will make some teenager happy though since it will probably go straight to auction like all my other trade ins do.
High mileage and crap from 98% highway driving take a serious toll on my cars.

Who knows? How high of a mileage do you usually end up with before you get rid of it? It sounds like a good candidate to be turned into a rally car, which is what one of my plans were for one of the FR-S I acquire. Besides, I'm still a teenager at heart. Turning 25 for the 8th time in a few months!

This is how i've felt all winter. It has been a very light winter here but most of the twins owners around here just park them unless its completely dry out. Which makes me kind of sad because I feel you can enjoy this car all year round. With good snow tires it is a blast to rip around in the snow.

I guess panzies cant handle a RWD car in the snow

I get why the guys that want to keep them a long time or it is their first car don't want to drive them.
But... damn people it is a $30K coupe not a $350K exotic.

But, it'll get dirty!

I for one like to wash my car before each drive then wash, polish, and wax afterwards. Sadly, this just isn't feasible or time efficient in the winter...

Got a card and mine gets washed every couple of days. Lasts about 1/2 a mile most times unless I go straight home and park it.
Bitch when it freezes to the ground afterward though.

I look at mine in the garage and think about driving it for 6 months of the year, the other 6 months of the year I look at mine in the garage and try not to drive it much because I keep telling myself its getting miled out.

Go figure.

I actually feel bad for the people who's first answer isn't "drive it", whatever comes after that.

Maybe getting the FR-S is the key to the fountain of youth. I'm originally from Anchorage. I would love to take the FR-S to Alyeska (sp?)and back. That would be an epic drive. All those curves with vertical mountains on one side and the ocean on the other.
