New pads first, the stock ones are more compressible than good aftermarket ones.

I swap pads between winter and summer, and there's more difference between pads than there is between my car with stainless lines, mc brace on stock pads and a totally stock car.

I would suggest winmax w1 or w2. They are amazing pads. I am continually impressed by my w2's. Look them up.

DS2500s should do very well for you. I've been through a few sets. There's aren't many other pads out there that maintain such a consistent coefficient of friction over such a wide temperature range. You may see a very small sacrifice in initial bite if you drive in very cold temps (20F or less).
