I think there is a pretty costly solution to this...you might need a turbo and larger injectors and a different pump...but I'm not sure.

No one is making aftermarket HPFP's, just the in tank low pressure pumps. The HP pump is for the direct injection side, the in tank feeds both the port injectors and the base pressure for the DI.

For real. I had mine replaced about a month ago. No noise yet ~ 2k miles later.

This is for a different engine (VW/Audi 2.0T), but I would imagine the price would be comparable:

That's around the price on parts that my work order showed back in October 2013. It was a little bit over $1000. Not exactly a cheap part.

I had my fuel pump replaced over 3k miles ago and have not had crickets since. I'm going to switch over to E85 soon and will report if I have any issues. But I've been on California grade 91 oct. from a myriad of different gas stations with no issues since replacement.

I can't hear my crickets over my exhasut unless I'm standing there looking at the engine with the hood open.

so E85 helps, but for those who dont have it and only have access to race gas would it do the same, because of the octane or is it ethanol specific?

I don't understand why people feel the need to say "truly.." or "honestly.." before a statement. We're going to assume you aren't lying

but on topic.. +1 the flaw is of the design, not an error in manufacturing process. Those with "new" HPFPs sans everything else are likely to not solve the problem. Some people swear their new pumps have solved the problem. Time will tell

I wonder if this is considered under the powertrain warranty. 3 year bumper-to-bumper is just about up!

Won't matter. If they issue a TSB for it and your car falls within the VIN range, or you can prove to the dealer it makes the noise it should not be an issue.

TSBs apply even when you're out of warranty? Did not know!
