@JERM^ trying to avoid the cold starts and inevitable rust (typical Subaru). I've invested quite a bit in the platform so trying to make it last. I've got another car that I can DD in winter. Drove it last winter, so I had my fun

I was planning on storing it for the winter, but because it's a lease, I can't cancel my insurance (which is straight up BS), so the BRZ is gonna be a weekend warrior for the winter....who would've thought?

@Martinius if I were you and I wasn't going to buy the car out post lease, I'd definitely drive the piss out of it all year round

haha i know right!
I'm still storing mine since I'm paying it off once the lease ends and keeping it, but i never knew that if a car is on lease you cannot remove insurance which is complete rubbish!

Thankfully, insurance is surprisingly reasonable for this car...
Paying about $130/mo through TD Meloche Monnex.

I'm on the fence about that, that's why I wanted to store it. If I can afford it, I'm definitely keeping it, and slapping a turbo on it once the lease ends.

It's a money grab, their reasoning is that even if it's stored, a mishap can happen where the car can get damaged.

If I was paying as much as you I wouldn't bitch about it for sure, but I'm paying $230/mo. It's that damn accident 4 years ago

@Martinius I think the issue with the insurance on lease is that technically you have a loan / making payments on the lease value of the car whereas the dealer / toyota finance still owns the residual / buy-out value of the car. Since they still have skin in the game (i.e. you don't own the full value of the car) they'd rather not take chances and make it mandatory for full coverage. Just my unsupported thoughts haha.

I've never used anyone else for a performance alignment, sorry.

You should be able to get it close enough with some baseline measurements, or you could have Scott install the parts instead.

If you use your phone to get camber angles once the car is in the air, and get it as close as you can to that after replacing parts (while the car is still in the air) then you should be close. For toe you should get it close enough with a couple pieces of wood and two tape measures.

You must have shut the car down while Torque was still running and then turned the car back on. It's an issue with our platform - gotta close Torque before starting car again. Just clear the code.

Do yourself a favor and take the car out of storage! It should not be neglected due to the odd time we get snow in the GTA. Just get a cheap set of winter tires, put some weight in the back of the vehicle, get it rust proof if you are worried about corrosion then you can have fun and enjoy the car all year round.
