So our spotted thread has been derailed many a times. Here is a new place to discuss the happenings of the FR-S/BRZ in the Greater Toronto Area.

And Go.

Burrcold 12-17-2014 11:41 PM

Or we could just keep the spotted thread...

iLaw 12-17-2014 11:42 PM

The idea is that non-spotted discussion will happen here instead of in the spotted thread

I spotted a loud ass BRZ on the QEW today

Oops

Fair enough. Okay so...I like driving my BRZ...in the GTA!! Oh and I might have spotted some others as well, but I'll post about that in the other thread.

Poke fun all you want. I made this thread because it was recommended to be done in the sightings forum, and I agreed with the recommendation.

Slippery road today. Had some fun, scared myself a little too

drewbot 12-18-2014 09:20 AM

I think the first post in this thread should have an index to literally the most common topics, including:

1. crickets vs fuel
2. stores for parts
3.winter driving

yeah, i got one. where's the cheapest place to source OEM subaru parts? When I had a Mazda3, there was a particulat dealership that was a forum sponsor and would charge less for stuff than others.

Also, anyone have recommendations for performance alignment shops in the GTA? @1Cor10:23 recommended automatrix and i've heard good things about speedstar's perfectionism.

Canehda 12-18-2014 01:28 PM

^simply tire is apparently good for alignments

What suspension setup do you guys prefer for cayuga, the first two corners always make me want to set the car up soft and high to handle the bumps but then the rest of the track I want the car nice and compliant... Whenever I adjust the setup to "in between" I feel like I lose total lap time...

OEM parts try Brampton Subaru. When I was calling around for OEM Subaru Japan oil filters they were cheaper than Budds Subaru, and they seem to have a good rep from the TSC guys as well.

Alignment I've only used Altech in Etobicoke. However note that I do not track my cars and only used them for alignment as part of regular maintenance.

Any good suggestions for a lap timer? I'm not gonna lap religiously (maybe 3-4 times a summer) but I do want to be able to check my progress.

Heard good things about a lap timer app though.

drewbot 12-18-2014 05:19 PM

I rode along with a guy at DDT and he had Harry's Lap Timer setup

Seemed to work well

I have a lap timer for sale. Aim myChron TG light w beacon. $150 and its yours.

T1 at Cayuga w some good dampers can soak up the bumps yet be less compliant through the other corners. Have a look at

and w a street/track set up in my car:
