Anyone else sick of threads like this?

The problem I see with waiting is there are no other cars like it, either now or in the immediate future.

ND Miata appears to be convertible only. New Mustang is 3600-3900 lbs, depending on trim. The new Camaro promises to be lighter, but will exceed 3400 lbs. Alfa 4c is well over $50k. Nissan IDX concept likely won't make it to production due to lack of potential platform sharing options. The Kia Stinger concept probably has the best chance of production, but it's not a sure bet and the stripped down concept car was already pushing 2900 lbs.

The FR-S, being a sub-2800 lbs RWD coupe for $25k, is kind of a unicorn. You can wait but the question is, wait for what?

Wouldn't be to bad if it weren't for the fact that the OPs of these threads will ask the question then usually argue most of the answers. This means they already have decided one way or the other and are just looking to justify their decision.

Or

They ask the question and are never heard from again (like this one) which means that they were either just trolling or never had any intention of buying.

If you can afford the car/ payments now, id say just get a current gen. You can sit at home wondering what the next MY will be like. there are plenty of models to choose from. if you plan on keeping the car further down the road, you can tell people that you own a first gen model. Straight OG.

Eh it would still be bad. This information is all over the forums, it's staying NA and there will most likely be a face lift in the future.

There needs to be an "Ask a Stupid Question" sub forum I swear, read people read!

But nobody would use it as they think it is a perfectly reasonable question.
Of the 100 or so questions I have had on the car I have asked 1 and that was more a matter of opinion than tech info. Got a handful of real answers and closed it out with the conclusion, all was cool. The other 99 I spent literally minutes checking the threads for what I needed to know and found answers for everything already existed.
Now... for guys like me (and quite a few others I am aware of) that are here for the entertainment there is still value in these threads as they can be a blast to read!

Haha I agree that some are definitely entertaining... The most entertaining one thus far was that guy with the flame decals on his doors, underglow, and rocket bunny wing. And he asked for everyone's thoughts on his build. That's the kind of entertainment I like!

However lately these lazy threads seem to be popping up more.

Also there should be a "Financial Advice" sub forum because that seems to be another popular topic haha... Not like people would use it though

Wish I had a dollar for every guy from the States that says "Dude, you can get one for $24K" to somebody in Canada where $28K is a good deal!

Oh, who am I kidding, any second now another person with sage advice will jump right in and give yet another lecture on why not to wait. It may be worded slightly different from the second post on the thread but they will think it is new!
