21k for an unmolested stock Frs > than 24k (suspension molested) Frs just MHO.
think about it, would you want to buy someone else's modded Frs (or any modded car that wasn't modded to your personal taste)?
you may find a big fish willing to bite, but you're going to have to be patient.

i would pay for the same price i'd consider a bone stock one. unless the car is a complete show car built with quality top shelf parts and selling to another person who wants to continue with the show cars, mods dont really add any value to a "typical" daily driver. thats just my experience in selling my previous cars... and my frs is the 11th car ive owned.

I'm just trying to get community feedback for an as-is sale lol. I'll offer up another bit to chomp on:


If you wouldn't buy a vehicle with aftermarket parts and the OEM ones included then you are a lazy individual. You could (very easily) turn a profit if you replaced the aftermarket bits with the OEM components. I've done this a few times with older chassis' I've purchased in the past.

I think someone said they would "never buy a used car" and that solidifies the creeping sensation that I'm in the wrong community.

This has been really good thus far. I'll most likely end up keeping it because it's obvious that a lot of the SoCal kids are just that...kids. If my roof was carbon-wrapped or plasti-dipped I'm sure I could get a hell of a lot more than what I would ask. Shame.

Props to everyone for debating and not turning this into an e-argument.

I think if you have time to hold out and wait for the right buyer than you could probably get 25-26 as is. Now I know you are hating the part out stuff but the one thing I have found in the past is you will do better selling the volks separately. People buying the whole car for some reason always seem to not care about nice wheels. Especially with this car where the majority seem to be ok with replicas or knock offs.

Problem is you can't expect to get high dollar for used parts on this car when there are do many options out there. With that much out there there are always sales and not many pay retail even new. So when you have used parts they expect a "deal".

I can't find a price on your coils but it looks like maybe $1,000 retail? The control arms look like $200 and the tails are like 500. Can't find pricing or info on the toe arms either. If guess 200 or so?

So that is about $1900 retail without the rims. I figure you would be lucky to get 1200 to 1300 extra for that stuff. That is if you find someone who wants that combination and brand of parts.

So like $22,000 to $23,000 without the rims.

The coilovers are more than that and they're the only FRS set in the US...I think. LCA and tail light prices are spot on. Toe Arms aren't listed by Battle Version yet...I think I'm still the only FRS owner with a set right now.


Your 'math' is along the lines of how I view it...but like you said people on here don't even seem to know the difference Volk and Rota other than one is 'real' and one is 'fake'

...I noticed you didn't point out tires either. I'm not saying you don't look for those kinds of things because you seem like you know what you're talknig about, but most kids nowadays don't know how important tires are and care how new they are. That's why I'm pretty sure I'll just keep the fucking thing lol.

Yup unfortunately the price point this car is sold at attracts a lot of young buyers and a lot of them just care about how it looks and how cheap you can get it. They don't look at quality, safety and actual performance.

I know that the TE would sell pretty quick and for a descent price by themselves. A buddy of mine already sold a set used for this car.

Aside from the what is it worth why don't you love the car? Meaning what is it lacking? POWWWWWA?

Mods don't add value to a car (unless they're performance parts from the maker, like genuine TRD parts). Just food for thought. If the wheels are in great shape, that's all I'd add value to. And only add value if you get all stock parts with the car as well. Otherwise just pay face value.

Not 100% true. I have sold 3 highly modified cars in the past and actually made a profit on 2. The mods do not add value to the majority of people but if you have the time and patience to wait for the right buyer they can.

Stock car and parting out will go faster but not always for more.

Sure you can sucker anyone with enough time i guess lol. The only advantage in mods is if a buyer was going to do it anyway. But since 2 people rarely have the same taste, selling a modded car is usually pretty difficult, especially for a profit. But given enough time, sure it'll sell.

It's all about finding someone who wants to mod the car but does not have the time, knowhow or patience to do it.

Most of my cars are pretty "clean" so they appeal to a wide audience.

I keep seeing people mention 'taste' so let me tell you what I think that means.


Taste is styling. Sadly, for our cars, it seems to be stylish to color-match your emblems to your mirror covers and carbon-wrap your roof and OEM wing.

Now someone who is truly a car person or a driving enthusiast wouldn't care for these things. They're extras that serve no purpose whatsoever. The suspension components on my car add a larger degree of adjustability and allows for a proper drop or OEM-like ride height. How are these not considered valuable? How does this decrease the value? I'm not trying to talk specific dollar amounts now. I'm talking usability and versatility.

To be honest the difference is between who's a 'ricer' and someone who loves to drive. One would love to be able to adjust things to his/her liking and the other just wants the 'car guy/girl' moniker. Do you want to be an enthusiast? Or appear to be one?

Some people are happy with how the car drives and performs and just want it to look better. Their "taste" is to do simple appearance mods that won't affect any warranty.

No matter how much you think the coils and components allow for stock feel there are people who will disagree and say it is rough and you have to be more careful because it is lower. It also does void warranty on suspension related items.

Neither of you are wrong you just have different "taste" in how to mod a car.

When I had my Mroadster that community was really tough lol. If you switched any part for a non oem or factory approved item you "ruined" the car.

You would constantly hear "the engineers at bmw spent millions of dollars developing that part why would you swap it for some cheap aftermarket piece.

That was many years ago, I think they have gotten a little better.
