hmm i don't know where you got that refresh rate from but, when i use it, i dont really noticed a "lag".. then again maybe im just not that picky LOL. ill check again today

Really? Mine lags really really badly.... Ah well.

I got the refresh rate by using the datalogging feature. I had it log 1 value per second, and the values sometimes don't change from one second to the next :/

Do you use a phone or a PC for the information gathering?

I use a phone. I don't think that has anything to do with it, because the expensive Bluetooth interfaces are known to have pretty good refresh rates, and it takes very little processing power to just display some numbers and record them.

My thoughts exactly. Im close to 6ft even, but i do like to have a slight bend on the knees (no gangster driving) lol

Based on the Pic the OP posted - it would seem like a very low drop and would definitely start to annoy me.

Would you be Interested in a Samsung Galaxy S3? (Sprint)

I was planning on switching to att towards the end of the Year and hopefully changing to a different phone. The GS3 is top notch - bought from Sprint Retail about 2-3 months ago. If not interested - i am definitely keeping it for Music/ a second Nav/ and for applications like Torque.

I bought a Nexus 7 for this, nice 7in screen which is big enough for quick glances while driving, also can use it for maps/nav and for music.
and fairly cheap too!
Again, great idea. I thought about this too, but I also have the GS3 that would suffice.

This one looks neat. Mind if I ask which vendor? I found a few decent/ ok ones from Amazon and Ebay ($20-30) - which leaves me very skeptical.

No 6 more months before I can switch this out... been getting impatient ever since it started acting wonky right after its 1 year warranty went.

I've driven with it in place a couple of times, and its not technically in the way, but I'm very conscious of it being there, which is distracting. I think the newer, smaller ones would definitely be better.

I used the torque app's track recorder + data logging. I can post up some vids if you guys wish for it. Though, the wind noise is annoying and my phone was having issues that day. Being below 35% battery life, I think my phone was trying to conserve power thus resetting my presets on the track recorder.

Have you tried using an OBD extension cable?

I had thought about it, but didn't do it. I only use it casually and rarely drive with it. The whole point of it was to avoid cables. If I was going to use it for anything serious while driving I would definitely consider that, or the smaller BT device.
