What? Cayman? How about Berlinetta:

If you truly compare bottom lines, a Fiesta ST lease will run you about $100 less than an FR-S lease (same drive-away fees).

I picked up a focus st a few months back to get build some parts for and have fallen in love with the car...haven't driven a fiesta yet. It's a different car than the 86 which i absolutely love, but they both bring different things to the table.

That is the bottom line: they are very different cars and bring different aspects of driving to the table. It depends on your desires/needs as to which is better. Personally i feel the 86 is in a different league.

Wow... my post obviously flew WAY over your head.

No one I know who has driven the ST versions of the Focus or the Fiesta have said they hated it. It's a very fun car.

As for reliability? Only time will tell...
By you two, I hope you don't mean me. Seems that no one understood that I was poking fun of the people who come in and call every comparison where the cars are slightly different, ridiculous.

Ok, tough to tell if you were being sarcastic or not. My bad.

Speaking of the Fiesta ST, I read somewhere here that someone said the seats are too snug. Yes, they are but they need to be broken into. If you sat in them at the auto show they were still likely to be VERY virgin.

I liked the Fiesta ST much more than the Focus ST. The clutch feel and travel felt a lot easier to modulate on the Fiesta than the Focus.

It will be very interesting to see how things are when the STI comes out. Yea, it won't have any more power, but it will have much better rubber which is one of the biggest difference makers in any car.

Ignore the bike..
It's the torque. My wife's Passat TDI feels faster too which makes it fun in it's own way.

The Fiesta ST hadn't been launched in ZA when I bought the 86 and half of me (the logical, sensible half -well 5%) would have taken the Fiesta ST eventhough we only get the 3-door and it is cheaper by a large margin and will murder the 86 at the altitude where I live.

But there is nothing like power-on oversteer!

PS: Also poor (poorer since 86! )

That's a $5000 dollar difference with a new FR-S. Could be the deciding point for a lot of folks who are poor like me

I love my FRS and i will never trade it for anything other then possibly a turbo FRS but the fiesta ST looks like it could be a very fun city car

I'd add that the Focus ST's seats are not very comfortable, it seems to be a common complaint about the Focus' Recaros. Whereas the Fiesta was way better on this front.
