Damn, I might buy that "just in case." That's nice.

Make sure the bolts use a 19mm (or 3/4") socket so I can use my lug nut socket on the bolts. I'm lazy and don't want to have to change tools.

It would also be cool if the spacers used a hex instead of flats, but I appreciate the machining required for a hex is more costly than flats.

Sorry, but I'm not going to be able to accommodate either of your requests.

Bolt heads and Flats are 22mm (7/8in). They will need to be that size due to the bolt size.

The Flats allow for more surface area for the hitch tube to rest on.

Install/uninstall with hand tools and torque wrench takes less than 5 minutes.

Im sorry but that design looks terrible for any significant tongue weight. Those bolts are gonna be torqued like crazy in a location/direction they are not designed to be torqued (the threads).

Don't think anyone was planning on using it for towing their boats; just a tire trailer/bike rack. You do realize that the mounting points are for the factory TOW hooks, right?

-Towing a boat doesnt have ANY tongue weight
-Towing a tire trailer doesnt have ANY tongue weight
-Factory tow hooks are not in question

I was thinking the problem may arise if someone tries to load one of these puppies up with 300 pounds.

It is a pretty sweet idea though, I mainly just wanted to provide a warning about tongue weight.

I cringed as I bolted up my heavy ass curt hitch. Added 30 pounds over the back end.

Trailer tongue is typically 10% of the total trailer weight. So your 3000lb boat should have a tongue weight close to 300lbs.

The hitch is rated at 100lb tongue weight and 1000lb trailer weight. This is and will be clearly depicted on each hitch.

From what we experienced in the testing phase of this project was that excessive tongue weight is going to affect the rear suspension of the car more than the trailer hitch. Add too much tongue weight and you will be riding on bumpstops.
