Most guys keep your car for 2.5-3 hrs anyways to allow a little dry time before you drive it away. The tint itself shoudl only take 30-45 mins as far as I know. Getting mine done by a buddy at Standard Auto glass in Tillsonburg. Awesome work and only $220 for the whole car plus a windshield strip.

found this on the MTO website

After-market window tinting prohibited on the windshield and windows to the immediate left and right of the driver for vehicles manufactured after July 1, 2011;

http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/tru...s/annual.shtml

So we can only get the back window tint?

That applies only to commercial motor vehicles.

Found this:

(3) No person shall drive on a highway a motor vehicle on which the surface of the windshield or of any window to the direct left or right of the driver's seat has been coated with any coloured spray or other coloured or reflective material that substantially obscures the interior of the motor vehicle when viewed from outside the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 73 (3).

How do tinters get around the front window rolling down? Also, is the third brake light in the way when they're doing the back windows?

Hey I spoke with Norb a few days ago when I got my pulley installed by Dave(Defcon). He showed me a picture of what looks like your car. You have the JDM headlights right? How did you get them?

Not JDM headlights... I just blacked out the housing when I did the Morimoto HID retrofit.

Take door apart, and take off the break light

Both Norb at Carbox and John at Auto-Links are great installers.

Most people seem to assume that 35% is the legal limit for the side windows. I've been pulled over before with 35% tints. It depends on the police officer. He told me you aren't allowed to have tints that can make looking into the interior hard. And at night 35% is too dark... I've also been pulled over for other things and I now have 10% (Don't remember either 10 or 12) all around and I haven't been pulled over since.

Planning to do 15% sometime next week on the TL I just picked up.

When Norb did mine, he manipulated the little push buttons in the door jambs. When you fix them in, it indexes the window back up (like when the door is closed). For the rear window, he slid the tint between the third brake light and the window, then used a long, thin squeegee.
