You may want to update your website!

(This is why i also don't do sales... more fun to drive the car anyways)

Pricing:
MSRP on the kit will be $3800.00 for non ceramic-coated, and $4400.00 for ceramic coated. They will include the base Stage 1 tuning map when purchased directly through us.
Question for you, also.

Quote:
This base map is going to be set up for a car running 5psi of boost and 91 octane gas. We have to assume that a customer may be in the worst case scenario (California) and doesn't have access to 92 or 93 octane. This is why we suggest that anybody purchasing an AVO turbokit get it tuned soon after, so as to make the most of their local conditions.
Which blend CA gas did you guys design this base map for?

Yes, that would be heavenly. Then we could all have a turbo and a sc 86...

Standard Texaco/Shell/whatever we pumped from the side of the road blends in the summer and fall when we drove through there. So the rather variable rate ethanol blend which, yes, has a quite a bit of variance. That's why we suggest getting a local tune for more power, because our base map isn't tuned for more power, but more safety margin.

Thanks for all the great info.

What kind of intake options are there for the AVO kit? Just the drop in filter for the factory airbox? I have an AFE Takeda cold air and I'm assuming that will not be compatible due to the filter diameter.

The only think we can guarantee is drop in panel filters. Some cold air intakes work if they match up to the stock factory inlet, but that will require additional tuning to match up the MAF scaling.

I'd really like to go SC for transient response, but the current options don't seem to leave much headroom for future upgrade...Which most will probably want at some point in the future. Most of us enthusiasts don't have as deep pockets as many shops running these kits do. We want to buy the right kit, the first time, and go from there.
Then go with JR.

If the AVO kit had an EL exhaust manifold option I'd honestly probably buy it, even knowing where the turbos came from.

What mythical land do these turbos come from? A couple of people have made references like that, implying they have some kind of disease

Here's my avo stage 1 kit. I've had it for a few months and put about 2k miles so far.
Everything bolts up perfect. It boost about 3500rpm so it's very fun to drive daily.

my car has a slightly larger turbo than the avo kit (gtx2867r), i've had it way less than a year and i already want to go bigger.

300whp isn't as fun as it sounds. after trying e85, is downright boring.

I was in the same boat, AVO or innovate. SC have a ton of belt issues.
Reliability wise you'll have less problems with turbos.
A huge advantage to me is that AVO gives u the sweet boxer rumble but its really heart
To oversee innovates great price.

You can scan through my build thread, FI review/results thread and AVO turboworld review thread and find lots of info.

The short story is that I had the AVO kit stage 2 and after going E85 and having some quality issues I sold it and am now in the middle of a custom turbo kit with a noticeably larger turbo.

I also agree so much with @jamesm comment. It is fair to say there are WAY more people with 100% positive experience than issues but of course in this life nothing is perfect.

Since I do not like the BS that's always thrown around here... the only shop I know personally that has installed an Avo kit did not have great things to say about the fit. Then again, I have the fbm kit and I've said before they have some QC issues. I just had the downpipe remade and honestly its embarassing to have your fabricator shake his head and ask how much this setup cost me. Every person that has touched my car has said something similar. Every single one.

So far the only kit I've seen that justifies the price with fit and finish is innovate. I'd go that direction if I had a do over. Its really only a 20 hp difference on 91 octane.
