get the IS-F if you can afford it. some might argue that the gt86 is more fun than the isf but from my experience driving both is that they are both fun in a different way.
the isf is a comfortable car that with the flick of your wrist you can put it in manual mode and hear that v8 scream. if you are not up for driving spirited you can just put it on auto and enjoy the quietness of a lexus cabin or you can cruise along listening to your favorite tunes on the amazing sound system that the isf comes with. now another thing that a lot of people forget is that the isf is a beast on the track as well. plenty of oversteer and the ability to do power slides at will. and the brakes and suspension are at home on the track. i've seen stock ISFs endure track abuse the whole day with no issues.
now if you want a car to modify and to go crazy with you can get the gt86. the gt86 is really fun to drive but as a daily it sucks. the radio sucks it has more rattles than a 10year old cobalt and overtaking power is almost non existent. the gt86 is a car meant to be modified to your liking. from the radio to the wheels. the isf on the other hand is a car that you buy and enjoy. two whole different recipes for fun that at the end it depends on what you want and what your wallet lets you get.

if i could have afforded an isf i'd bought that in a heart beat.
