Given that I know people on the team that developed the Ford Ranger, it's not "badge engineered" as you say. Mazda & Ford co-developed it.

I own a Vibe. Yes it was also the Voltz in Japan and only lasted from 03-04, but where as in the states the sales didnt start to slide until the 07-08 model year since GM and Toyota cut out the GT(6spd Manual with the 2jz VVTL-i) and AWD models. both got a redesign in 09. Vibe only lasted until late 09 with the 2010 models and the Matrix lasted until the end of this year. Both were designed by GM but built by Toyota Exact same inside and mostly out with the exception of the rear hatch and rear Quarter areas. Front sheet metal was different but structure remained the same, drive train, engine, chassis, and interior were all identical.

Its still somewhat of a reskin of each other, since Saturn and Pontiac are both GM product (they reskin everything to death with every brand they have). Toyota and Subaru are completely separate entities.

-The Saab 9-2X is a rebadged impreza
-The Talon/Eclipse/Laser triplets were rebadges/reskins of each other
-Anything made in the NUMMI plant (Corollas/Prisms and Vibe/Matrix) were just reskins of mostly Toyota product. But GM and Toyota shared the plant.
-Uplander/Montana/Outlook/whatever pos GM minivans they had were rebadges.

I suppose Aston Martin Cygnet and Scion/Toyota IQ might fit the mold of collab, but its more or less Aston Martin luxofying an IQ.

I think another actual one but not really was a Lotus Elise and a Vauxhall VX220 or whatever it was called. Basically GM took a Lotus Elise and put their own motor and skin on it.

Then along time ago there was the Chrysler Lebaron and the Maserati TC. But that was pretty much the same thing as the IQ and Cygnet (Maserati Luxofied a Lebaron)

I actually don't think theres been any real collabs in recent years that are not just reskins of each other.

come to think of it, maybe the Vibe/Matrix is the only real one. But how much input did GM have on those?

i do believe that the vibe/matrix is a true collaboration

i believe GM did the Same as subaru, let one design the car and the other supply the chassis parts and assembly

There are a lot of badge engineered cars that aren't really collabs on this thread.

The DSM triplets are the best example. Mitsu under the skin, Chrysler designed skin.
I don't know if it's quite the collab, but the Chrysler/Diamler cars would probably fit that category for this thread.

The Ford Probe/Mazda MX6, the Mazda MPV/Windstar, the Chrysler/Hyundai/Mitsubishi world engine was a collab.

Interesting badge engineered car: Toyota Cavalier. Yes, that Cavalier.

They weren't. The chassis was developed by MMC off the e39 Galant. Chrysler designed the exterior/interior.

Ford Fiesta vs Mazda 121

This thread should only be about near identical vehicles, preferably demonstrated with photographs.

I didn't see this one yet but thanks to the new partnership the Chevy silverado has a nissan motor. I guess GM bought part of Nissan and they are now able to use any motor in their line up. I have seen the nissan stamp on a silverado engine but I don't know the details I heard about it from some friends that still work for GM.

Hyundai and Mitsubishi were supposed to collaborate; but in the end Hyundai got a kick start in the auto industry and Mitsubishi got a 'lol j/k'.
