Hey, this is a great tutorial. I ran through it when installing 2 gauges last week and noticed I was having overheating issues (the gauges themselves were overheating). Do you know what the source is of the 12v constant?

To be honest, I don't know the exact source of the 12V constant. I just poked around with my multimeter until I found a 12V constant and then tested it in all conditions to make sure it was an absolute constant.

What gauges are you using, and what are the symptoms? Anything else odd with the gauges besides the heat issue?

Strange things are happening.

I'm using Halo Prosport AFR & Boost gauges, and they are overheating. I mean hot. after about a half hour of use, they kick off due to the heat. Their support team suggested wiring in a 10amp fuse for the 12v constant, but to me, that just sounds like that won't solve the issue.

Hey, because I am an idiot and do not understand the intricacies of forced induction, is a boost gauge recommended for a super charger? I do not plan on getting a turbo, but I do hope to get a vortech kit next year.

Yeah that is really odd, it may not be a bad idea to double check all of the connections, or check voltage on the wires. I was trying to do some research and was not able to find anything that would help you out. I will keep on digging though.

Yeah, I would always recommend a boost gauge with any form of forced induction. Always a good idea to know how much boost you are running at any given time

Hey Rick, I believe the 12v constant is shown to the left of this diagram, and runs off a 15A fuse.

Hmm, yeah that should be correct. I am not really sure on this one, you could try a different power source, but I would assume you would have the same symptoms, but worth a shot.

Correct, you would want to use the 60mm to 52mm adapter ring
