... there's a lot of hate in here for no real reason.

I own a '11 Honda Civic Si Sedan, a '07 Subaru STi as well, and can't fathom the blind hatred here.

Honestly, the HFP package is nothing to be praised. If you consider a 1'' drop and 18'' wheels - a performance package, you're beyond saving. The HFP package has always made me laugh, it's an aero kit more than anything else and the "sporty tires," lol.

Personally, I strongly believe a stock Si Sedan would've been a more appropriate car to use for the comparison to the FR-S / BRZ. I think the .1 second difference, in favor of the Si, would've only been magnified if the sedan was used.

I'm quite eager to begin looking in to BRZs, for a future build, but lets not hate for the sake of hating.

This wasn't exactly the intro I wanted to make here, but the egos here are worse than on Nasioc and that's saying a lot.

A lot of you guys need to either grow up, or get a clue.

My '07 STi:

I can't afford upgrades. LOL it's the sad truth. I like the stock 2013 Si feel over the stock BRZ. True, there might not be as much tweak-ability or aftermarket support for the 9th gen Si, but I'm ok with that, perhaps I'll make a few non FI upgrades for a smidgen more HP, not enough for torque steer or FWD to become an issue, I will hit the suspension up with an upgrade - but I'm happy at stock, I just want to spend 3 years paying it off early.

The BRZ was fun, had the best handling ever, RWD was fun, but my new car is less of a compromise to me. I'm cool with saying the BRZ is nice and just not for me. And now I can drive three girls instead of one!!

I'm just happy someone is happy with their purchase. That doesn't mean that to be happy you HAVE TO OWN a BRZ. It's a car built with a completely different purpose. Chassis, suspension, drive feel. But that isn't for everyone. That is why these cars exist, and the G series, and even the new Camry has some umph.

It does, but I think that is because of all the $$ that was spent researching the formula to get it right.

But I think the ego title to some degree may go to (some) s2000 owners

I blame this on the newer members.

This horrible section that is "FRS/BRZ vs...." is just FULL of that. Get out while you still can.. hang out the region/offtopic forum so you can get used to the nice and troll members for the lulz, then hang out in the BRZ section or FRS section.

Great forums, very helpful, except of those that are like this

I don't understand. He bought a car that turns on, has four wheels, goes where he needs to go... To each his own, beauty in the eyes of the beholder blah blah. I personally don't like Hondas, I'm not better nor worse for it.

HOWEVER - OP beware! You ARE posting this on a forum that's designed for owners and fans of the FRS/BRZ - it's expected to get flamed... Someone turned to Porsche and announced it on Lotustalk.com - the crowd is older than the FT86Club, but the flames were the same...

In the end who cares really... Buy a house, raise a family, live healthy and be happy...

Be sure to wave to me on the highways when you pass by. I don't respect car brands, I respect car owners.

Every forum you go to the members are going to defend their product they purchased.. I don't think it's so much hating or bashing, even though I guess some if it is.. But you have to expect a civic bashing on our forum to some degree..

I've seen NASIOC and they are worse by far.. Bring up why you traded your STI in for a EVO.. Million times worse then this...

The OP traded a sports car.. Yes I say ours is a sports car, for a family sedan.. Two different types of vehicles.. Me personally the FRS fits for my personal life, my kids are older ie 13 and 14 so there is room when I have them, it's great on gas, and when I wanna have fun it's available to deliver said fun.. When I wanna go fast and be crazy I hop on the gixxer.. After some suspension and rims, I'm done with my FRS, I was thinking about FI, but just don't see the need.. I'm happy with the car.. Oh I'll get a tune.. Otherwise I'm done and 100% happy.. If the op is as happy with his new SI.. That's all that matter.. Not dreading car note day makes ownership so much better, and I loving your purchase helps

I love my new Si, I'm far happier now. And to be fair this is me returning "home" as this is my third Civic Si, having owned the seventh, eighth, and now ninth gen Si. It was worth the extra hit trading the BRZ in for me. I was willing to try the BRZ, that's more than most Honda fanboys can say. It was fun while it lasted but the buyers remorse was too strong. I'm like K-Pride and G-Man, buy a car you like and enjoy!! Nothing is worse than hating on your car for whatever reason and paying a note on it at the same time.

I think my new 2013 Si Sedan is better than my old 2006 Si Coupe was, as the new one has more low end torque and a better interior. Which in turn was better than my 2004 Si Hatch was, it had a shifter that was too high, low HP, and was an off year in overall design like the 2012 year was (the 2013 is much improved). But man I miss that hatch utility. You could move your whole life sans furniture in that thing. I really wanted to like the Focus ST, but I didn't. As to why I gave up all utility for a BRZ, well it wouldn't be the first time I fooled myself with hype to justify a purchase!!

IMHO, I think both are good cars for what they do. With a good driver behind the wheel of either, they can be quite fun cars on or off the roads. No need to bash one or the other.

Oh and I knew that this thread would be like this, I just wanted to share my experience and hope others with my set of priorities think the purchase through a bit more than I did. Plus it's not like I bought the same type of car or anything. Honk if you see a 2013 Sunset Orange Pearl Si Sedan coming down the road in an exuberant fashion!!

Your like my bothers from another mother, or my sisters from another mr. However, the good looking sisters can ride shotgun

I can also recline that front seat a whole lot more now

every problem that has ever occured or will occur in this world has been caused by a civic owner, with their 319 inch diameter exhausts and 19 foot tall spoilers, sadaam, hitler, ghengis khan...all civic drivers
