well, that the point of the camo- its can't hind the shape of the car, but it can hide the lines. that what they're doing here. I'm sure when we the actual images come out people's minds will change.

also, we haven't seen the profile view or rear view.

so try not to jump to conclusions.

I'm personally waiting to see if there will be a wagon version and what it will look like.
Confirmed no Wagon for WRX, Sedan only..also..

The WRX will be based off the current impreza platform, BUT! not be the same car as the impreza with upgrades, as it was previously.

The WRX will be based off the impreza, but be shorter and wider, and have a longer wheelbase. It will share some panels but not share the same shell.

What you are seeing in these pictures are WRX styling updates on an impreza body.

Well there you have it. I still will reserve judgment until it is officially revealed.

when I saw the concept i told my wife if this new STI comes out aggressive just like the concept i may get it vs the FRS/BRZ but when i saw this im back to FRS/BRZ, i dont know why subaru instead of making it look better and better every generation i feel like its going the wrong way...I wish I had the money back 2009 I'll take the wagon anytime.

Subaru WRX STI prototype spied in motion
Earlier this week, we got all hot and bothered over a set of spy photos showing the next-generation Subaru WRX STI testing at the Nürburgring. And while pretty still shots of a camouflaged car are always nice to look at, stirring up lots of speculation, having video is even better. Good thing, then, that our trusty spies were on hand to get some rolling footage of that STI as it lapped the infamous German track.

Now, as a good majority of the comments on our previous post will point out, it looks like Subaru has dumbed down the design of that decidedly hot WRX Concept from New York for the road-going car. Of course, we need to wait until all that swirly paper is pulled off the body, but from what we can see here, it looks like this new 'Rex will be more akin to the current Impreza than we were originally led to believe.

So while we wait and hope that what's under the camouflage will be something sexy, have a look at the video below to watch the WRX STI prototype get worked out on the 'Ring.

http://www.autoblog.com/2013/04/18/s...ied-in-motion/

From the video, the interior is current Impreza interior, so this might be just a mule... Or it's a hotted up Impreza like previous generation.

That pretty much looks like a tarted up '12 Impreza. Par for the course.

it sort of has an economy car look about it. Just the overall shape. I don't think fancy lines will fix that problem

I am a die-hard subaru fan, but happy as hell toyota was in-charge of the FT86 design/exterior...

I love the 95-99 2.5 RS and original bug-eye wrx, but everything since that has gone down hill.

I think the current Impreza is one of the ugliest cars on the road so I didn't have much hope for the WRX despite the decent looking concept shown a few weeks back. These photos just confirmed my fears...they took the base Impreza and added a hood scoop, large rear wing spoiler, and some small fender flares (just like they always do). So much for the WRX separating from the Impreza line.

I was really hoping for a 3 door hatch STi to show Subaru was serious about taking the STi back to it's rally roots. I wanted something that looked similar to a Citroen DS3 WRC, Peugeot 208 Type R5, Volkswagen Polo R WRC, or Ford Fiesta RS WRC, but instead the camoed car looks like what a refreshed EVO X would become. Nothing wrong with focusing on a street performance sedan but it's just not what I was looking for. Maybe next time Subaru but I'll sit this generation out.
