I really hope so as well as Honda! Imagine if Honda made a RWD coupe, it would be over!

Hopefully we do see the other Japanese players get a fire under their @$$es as I too would like to relive the 90's glory days! Even though I wasn't driving until 1996-7 as a high school/college student I LOVED the amount of fun Japanese used cars available to me. Now since I'm older and can afford to have some fun with cars I'd love to see what the others could come out with. Honda in particular needs something to turn them around. I was HOOKED after my Integra and they just started making uninteresting cars. I think the last car to come out by them that I actually liked was the first TSX. Anyways, the FRS/GT86/BRZ is a great start. Looking forward to getting mine to have the driving pleasure I had in high school/college!

In regards to Honda or Mazda any ideas of what they could do? I personally wish Honda would make the CRZ what it should have been all along, and then bring back/modernize the Integra, S2000 and get rid of that monstrosity we call a Civic these days... As for Mazda? PLEASE BRING BACK THE RX-7! The final gen is still a beautiful car, as was the Toyota Supra. Hard to think how old those both are and they're still lookers and modern in appearence.

It would really be nice if after the GT86 we'll see a new Silvia, a new S2000 coupé and a new RX-7.

It doesn't need to be re-imagined. Just give me the S15 Silvia R and I'll be good to go.

LOL, true... Just re-release the originals with some tweaks to the engines!
I was the same as you RRnold, had a 94 Integra LS non-vtech. Wasn't a fast car by any means but it was a blast to drive. Just put some larger wheels and some coilovers on that guy and boy would it hug a curve! |

What kind of RWD Honda? They're making a new NSX. Or do you mean like a new S2000? Or maybe something different?
Let's not forget that the S2000 was pretty expensive for a little NA I4 car. And the NSX was completely out of most people's league. The 86/FR-S/BRZ (gosh I hate doing that every time I refer to this car) is pretty much everything I would want from a rear wheel drive car. Boxer engine, reliable design, decent fuel economy, decent power, decent cargo space, 4 seats, not too wide/long but not too small, modern technologies and convenience features, etc, for a fairly low price. IMO, Mazda has the most room to compete in the affordable sports car market with a new SkyActiv MX-5 Miata and a new Rotary RX-9. And Toyota could bring out a new MR-S. But I feel like a RWD Inline 4 Nissan or Honda wouldn't be unique enough to get people's interest/money these days. But who knows... maybe they could have some new hybrid design. Anyway, I'm always hoping for more sports cars. |

Wasn't part of the reason the S2000 was "expensive" was because it didn't share many parts in the parts bin? |
