It looks the same as the model that comes with the BRZ Limited in Canada...unless you were talking abou the microphone. Anyway, here is a pic of my car.

I'll post pictures of mine later. Currently at work. Haha.

I will say though, I didn't realize that this pioneer head unit requires an iphone to be plugged in not only through usb, but also through the headphone jack to get sound out of it (which is why Pioneer sells a 60 dollar cable.), major bummer there, considering my iPhone 3GS basically just sits in the car as a music storage device these days. I'll probably be purchasing a 15 dollar alternative on Amazon, if anything. Streaming my music through bluetooth right now, though.

Thanks for the great info.

I've been looking at this unit as a potential Christmas gift for MomHawk's Mustang (shh, don't tell her). Question for someone that has installed it. Does it work with an iPod/iPhone for control and playback using the radio's DAC? I don't want to have to use a dual-cord USB/RCA cord for it.

chinese knock offs that split ipod/iphone into usb/audio appear to work fine. however it only does audio, not video. like when you play a video it'll play the audio of it fine, but not display video. i ordered a new cable that should do video as well and it'll be in a few days so i can test it. i leave an old ipod sitting in my box too and would like to know that i can play video off of it if i really wanted to.

reason for this is due to the number of pins(forgot the actual word) on the head. standard is three, but for video you need 4. if anyone is interested then i can post back results on the new cable i ordered.

On recent AVIC models (AVIC-X930BT, AVIC-Z130BT, AVIC-X940BT, AVIC-Z140BH) if you do the bypass hack, you only need to ground the bypass wire -- you do not need to ground the parking brake lead.

BTW, I have wires with the proper pin to fit the AVIC's RCA harness plug (for people who don't want to bother or who have difficultly extracting the Pioneer's mute wire).

See this post for pics and info about the 4-pole 3.5mm plug for the iPod cable.
