I was doing a bit more research and found these:

http://www.brandsport.com/excl-793.html

Not sure how I feel like running something like this although if they are torqued down properly they should be fine I would think. Anyone have any experience with these?

I like your style sir!

Not sure how well 15x8 will work, you will probably need a pretty crazy offset as some people were saying they had rubbing on the inside with the steering knuckle IIRC. Either way if you do it before me let us all know how they go!
ditto!

Since they're not going to be on track wheels... I'd run em. I never do more than 65-70 on the street/highway anyway. I'd just check em week to week to make sure they're tight (which I have a feeling they will be). I'm gonna pick up the Avus' this weekend and order tires and the lugs I posted. Flat Black VW and/or myself will post our findings.

Keep a tq wrench/breaker bar with a lug socket in the trunk... Not hard haha.

These should work, the only thing I would do if I was using them is count how many turns the lug has with out them and then count how many with them. If you lose more than seven turns that's close to 1/2 inch of stud loss. My experience with spacers would say to at this max variable I would personally worry too much about the safety.

I now want an FRS even more knowing it can share VW wheels. I have the 16" bbs on my TDI and they are sweet wheels. Very light and strong. Kinda sucks having good running paid off older cars...no justifiable reason to get an FRS yet!

Interesting washers. Hm. Makes me want to try to test-fit some VW wheels for sale locally.
Radius still seems to be off VW spec.
Would still prefer proper lugs, but couldn't find any.

Pic of mine installed, they were plasti-dipped black with silver metalizer. Sadly its to overcast to see it very well. They look like a dark charcoal metallic. Camera phone quality too :-/

Yeah, a close-up of clearance between the wheel and brake caliper and between the inner lip and a steering joint would be awesome.

So if 15x6 fits, we can maybe run Konig Heliums?

11 lb wheels for autocross here I come!

On second thought, maybe I'll let someone else do it first and see how it goes
