if your car wont fir through the GARAGE door, it is not a GARAGE DOOR...at least not in the USA...maybe overseas, but not here.....(if you are a resident of New York or other over crowded city where owning and driving a car is stupid and very nearly pointless then this message was not intended for you)
I don't think any garage door size is the problem. It's the space inside the garage. When I went to check out my aunt's new house next past summer, her single-car garage was already pretty narrow, but the inside walls of the garage has built in shelves on both sides (for tools and stuffs I guess), which gave her car only inches of space on either sides.

Sure, garage isn't the trouble. Sometimes is more safety to keep them close to avoid vandalism too. In Europe a door mirror costs Eur 405,00 + VAT (22% -Italy) and Eur 45,00 (+VAT) the cover, that it needs to be painted. Some insurance companies pay for damages with Eur 250,00 deductible.

Plenty of older (~1900-1930s) houses around me have garages that are quite small, and may have originated as sheds or something like that. It's not uncommon.

I'm quite surprised to see this pop up.
Subaru South Africa sells this as a feature on the car, Toyota South Africa just includes it. As such, my 86 has them, even in it's stock-standard-no-options trim.

I assume that's the Japanese OEM part, then. It's not controlled by locking your car, but there's a button next to the mirror adjustment stick, which triggers the folding.

It's always good to have additional options for our cars.

Only in Europe, Australia, NZ and Japan, South Africa the door mirrors have default motor option and the related switch open/close on internal door keypad. In US you need motorized mirrors of course. I'm not sure about Canadian models.
This module cannot open and close something without motor....
