Gonna be stupid hard to shop for wheels if its 5x100.

Most of the popular tuner cars are 5x114

That's not fully true.
Tenzo DC
Enkei RPF1
Volks GT C & V
Volks RE30
Volks TE37
5Zigen GN+
BBS RS-GT
Work Emotion 11R
Work Emotion XD9 (iirc)
Gram Lights 57 MP
SSR Pro MS1
SSR Pro SP1 (iirc)
SSR Type F
Weds Sport SA
Work XSA

Those are the some of the lists I just know top of my head... you still gonna say PCD100 is hard to shop?

Ya you can get em brand new. But honestly. How many ppl go out there and drop $4000 on Volks or new SSRs when they are gonna change em up a year later.

Im talking about purchasing wheels used. Skip the wait time and you save a good bit of $$ for other stuff.

As I said earlier this wont bother me as my CE28s are both 5x100 and 5x114 but when I do decide to change my wheels up I kno its a gonna be a pain in the ass to shop for wheels.

getting wheels isn't a issue for bolt pattern 5x100. Every maker has a design set for 5x100. The problem is you will never find a 5x100 wheel with like 18x11.5 with close to 0 offset. 5x100 widebody offsets are almost non-existent. or 5x100 with 3inch of 5inch dish. Concaved wheel designs aren't widely available for 5x100. Id love myself a concaved set of Volk TE37 Super Dish Low offset. But they are only available in 5x114. Or Deep Dish Work Meisters.

but honestly, i can overlook all that if the car will come with wheel bearings that arn't shit and designed for FWD econoboxes.

Some recent toyotas are 5x100, most subarus are 5x100 . . . makes sense. However, I hope a conversion to 5x114.3 is available. Or that Toyoda realizes that being a tuner car it should have tuners' favorite bolt pattern.

Hm... maybe I've been in Subie forum/world too long. I seen some ppl have those setups, so in my brain it not rare... but maybe you're right. It might be rare, IDK

Why the hell do you want 0 offset?

You want to keep the offset as close to stock as possible for the suspension geometry to work correctly!

I'm concerned that people buy wheels for aesthetic looks, and not for how they allow the suspension geometry to do its job properly..... This can be DANGEROUS, and so can lowering it too much, as this messes up the geometry and roll centres etc..

People should learn about cars, before they are allowed to modify anything!

exactly rL-gT, not to mention bosozoku, or VIP, etc..

How many widebody 240sx or widebody RX7s, or widebody Supras do you see that run stock offsets?

Do you think hot rodders or hydraulic guys dont know anything about cars when they install hydraulics or airbags and slam the shit out of their cars?

What about SuperGT racecars? Do you think those wheels have close to stock suspension geometry with their sometimes negative offset wheels?

Andy the fact of the matter there are several different car cultures that have different tastes and different forms of functionality. There is no reason to get angry, because in the context of enthusiasts around the world, your logic does not always have a place.

There is always going to be a situation where those kinds of things are needed.

Not sure if you're agreeing with Andy or disagreeing with him. Every one of those cars has gigantic wheels with ridiculous offsets entirely for the aesthetics of it. Just like he said...

...which is true. My only disagreement is it's their money and they can do whatever they want. Personally I think they look ridiculous, but to each his/her own.

I personally could never run stock offsets.

If I didnt have my IS300 rims to slap onto my FR-S then I would run spacers as soon as I got the vehicle.

Even now for winter Im gonna be running spacers on my stock wheels just to keep the wheels flush to the body.

On a side note. I dont think ill ever go back to running crazy camber and "poked" wheels. If I do run that set up with the FR-S, Ill def have a set of RPF1s w/ slicks for track wheels.

And I was disagreeing with Andy :P
