salt water damage yes but fresh water... highly doubted because i have seen plenty of lexus(past 7 years) tow in with fresh water flood up the window and the car did not get total unless the motor is hydro lock... the car will show flood damage in car fax ( only if you claim insurance) but not as salvage title. if the owner never claim insurance even carfax wont show the car has repairs, it will still show car has a clean record.

Do you know how easy it is to just make shit up? There's no WAY anyone would do that on a forum.

That's just horrible, feel bad for you. However, this may be a blessing in disguise, use the insurance money and be the first to get the 2014 BRZ, most likely with more hp and cricket free.

Damn...That's a lot of moisture in your vehicle along with those taillights; definitely should bring it back to the dealer for warranty...

On a more serious note... Really sad and unfortunate to see a brand new car in this kind of situation. Hope your insurance can help ya out there.

Best of luck!

I don't man. I'm not a detailer. I'm just passing on information I learned from one of the greatest detailers in existence that did my car

If it isn't totaled I would be very concerned regarding the way totaling a car works...

Fresh or salt water doesn't matter, the amount of mold/fungus etc that can occur even after the most rigorous cleaning is mind blowing especially when it can put you into a coma or kill you...

That totally sucks man. Let us know what happens with the car. I honestly hope they total it so you can get another one; I don't think you want to deal with a car that's been flooded. It would be great if someone were to buy it and make it a race car, though!

Most likely some shady used car place will buy it and re-sell it. I saw a 2010 Audi S4 Prestige like this once; I couldn't figure out why it was only $35k when all the others were non-Prestige and going for $5k more. Turns out the dealership bought and sold salvage-titled cars, mostly flood cars.

Do you have GAP insurance?

Also depending on where you live and who you are insured with, payout values can vary.

I know that Progressive for example, searches local classified ads to see what the cars are selling for and then decides on a value based on the condition of your car (obviously pre accident) vs what the cars go for. Other companies and regions may do it differently.
