Damn. Long Island? I'm guessing there was some water on the road, but it was fine until you hit a deep section that you didn't realize was there. There was a huge storm in the area today.

Well, I wouldn't mind having a second BRZ. One that has a salvage title.

I hope that SUV wasn't there when you drove into that. That would have been a warning to me.

I wish you luck

Looks like several other drivers made the same mistake too. Damn, salvage due to water damage for sure.

It's true. It'll make a good candidate for a swap since you'll have to basically gut it anyways. I wonder if that could be an option to the OP. Take the check, buy the car back, and go to town.

This is why a windshield should be treated to deflect rain. None of that cheap Rain-X crap.

This is the best stuff. Made by Wolfs Chemicals who makes Wolfs Hard Body which is so much better than Opti Guard.

damn that sucks... sorry to see that. i think you can save it.... that car wont get total imo. did you hydro lock the motor? if not i can give you a hand with the car if you still want to keep it. i see that you are in queens are since i make out the sign of whitestone expressway...lol pm me if you need a hand..i am in queens. i seen flooded cars at the lexus dealer i work for. so if you did not hydro lock the motor... most likey the car wont get total. i have worked on flooded cars (lexus) this is fresh water just need to rip the interior out completely... let it dry and check on all connectors.
there shouldn't be much to worry about. By the look of the water level it probably just reach the bottom seat cushion. there are no computers under the seat probaby just airbag harness. few junction connectors by both kick panels. water level dont look high enough to reach any of the ecus under the dash. insurance campany wont total the car if you the motor is still ok. if motor is shot then there is a good chance of it being total. i had a tree fell on my 11 month old 2011 lgt during hurricane irene and my lgt did not get totalled.... did about 8k worth of damage though

Do you guys know how easy it is to get a flood title on a car? There is no way that car won't be totaled. I wouldn't buy it back either unless it is dirt cheap and you have time to remove every piece of the car and reassemble it.
