ok so this might be a dumb statement but i would love some help. having never drifted a rwd on a street i went to a parking lot just to see what i would do. i broke it back end loose a few time but felt like i spent more time under steering than anything (use to awd on dirt) after i left there was a repetitive thudding noise from what i think was my wheels. did i just burn a bald spot in one of my tires or should i be worried. i wasnt using the hand break just taking a turn and hitting the gas to power over

Here is a tip that helped me a lot get the rear wheels broken loose before you start turning.

A lot harder but definitely possible with the current setup. First time I hilariously spun out and forgot to clutch in causing it to violently stall. Car wouldn't start for about a minute and when it did it died out without throttle. Turns out a hose came lose.

The hose on the left. Popped it right back in and the CEL went away. Weird.

Why are you using the ebrake to soft? There are so many better ways to do it that will offer you more control and a better slide

My FR-S slides just as well on 18x8s running Hankook Ventus tires which have substantially more grip than the prius tires, and more HP to the wheels You do NOT need "crazy HP" or a turbo, so stop preaching about your lack of ability without power. That's your preference, and your style. It's not a requirement to drift. Many others have no issues drifting in this car, long sustained drifts too, by finding the balance points, and keeping speed.

The AE86 is FAMOUS for drifting and is 250% driftable at stock. Hell with just coilovers and an LSD you can drift it even better, no extra power required. This car is the same way.
