Since we are not running an inter cooler in front of the radiator there should be no cooling issues. We are only running 4 to 5 psi until someone proves 8 psi and up is reliable. The lag has yet to be determined but we will work it out. Not to worried about it today as we just got it running and are being smooth and cautious until we log some data.

Excuse my ignorance but I figure this is the best thread to ask this question.

Wouldn't adding a turbo be legal so long as the turbo kit is CARB certified and your emissions are low enough?

truthfully, I do not know what the process is to make a turbo system CARB certified. Is this something that is hard to find?

The company developing the turbo kit has to pay for the testing and the application to the state for the E.O. number that makes it smog legal. Usually only high volume vendors (such as Greddy, Cobb, etc) can afford (or choose to afford) this process.

Yes I agree, I believe we are talking big bucks to do that but I'm not sure. I won't be going that route since I'm not a vender just an enthusiast at this point.

Can I go check it out tomorrow? Meet up somewhere and do a ride-a-long?

Thanks guys for the support. I will be doing major testing this weekend and see how it ends up. Not looking for crazy horsepower like the other guys building systems, just a fun street and track car.

I have thought about it an can do it but there are a lot of guys working on that.
The California guys like me have got issues with smog so I'm concentrating on us right now. Thanks for the motivation though.

Actually me too, but after some in depth study I found that it's perfect for the street and track days people. Drag racing is a whole different story but I'd put my rear turbo up against a lot of other cars on the drag strip now. What a difference in performance. A lot, of course has to do with tuning and John Visconti is doing a great job. I was nervous at first but if you study and do it right it works great.
