California sleeper turbo - Visconti tuned

5 Attachment(s)
OK guys here's my sleeper turbo for us California guy's. I kept the Cat since it's a $2500.00 fine for removal , so I designed a rear turbo that's kinda steath for those of us in California. It can be removed in a couple hours to go back completely stock in case of the unfortunate modified exhaust ticket. It's John Visconti tuned so you know it's done right. I am not a vendor, just showing you what can be done with a little imagination and of course $$$$$. P.M. me for more details.

Also, just so you know, do not ask me for dyno numbers as I will get around to it after I get it all dialed in. Don't ask me about turbo lag as I will also get that dialed in later if there is any, if your a rear turbo hater don't leave comments as you must not know how to dial one in or have read to much without any real experience. Remember I did this because I live in California and we must adhere to some kind of pollution standards and it is what it is. It's also made to be able to go back stock in a couple hours. Also the pipes under the hood can go textured to even go more stealth and blend right in. I will do that later just to see how it looks. We are working on the splash shield and the dual exhaust tips this weekend and put the little needed extras on to get it as clean looking as possible.

Cool workaround. Glad I don't live in Cali.

WOW! That was fast! You were talking about it just the other day on the 17th at the meet that I set up at the target parking lot. I really want to see this. I might be setting up something small or big pretty soon in redondo beach, bring it down!

Wow! I didn't know you could put turbos that far back. I look forward to videos/dyno sheets.

Does the intake have a box or protection of sorts? It looks so unprotected back there.

Good job though!

Scary positioning .. I imagine all the water locking going on potentially .. >.<

BRZ123 08-29-2012 05:37 AM

Wow that's a crazy idea. In for updates!

The whole turbo will have a deflector shield around it for the splashes, just have not got it done yet.

Congrats on the first CA turbo BRZ/FR-S as far as I know. Its really cool you engineered the kit yourself. There's no way the DMV tech is going to spot that turbo or piping!

Do you have a shop to install and tune the kit? I'm not in SoCal but I'm not against a long drive south. I'm going to snag the AVO kit so I'm going to be looking for a good speed shop.

Cool!!!, but from the rear your cars exhaust is obviously modified because you have only one exite pipe and no muffler?? don't you think that that is anything but stealth?

Also, don't you think that your filter is going to get extreemly dirty very quickly the moment your car sees rain? (or doesn't see rain for that metter)

Not hating,,, just think you have some flaws that need to be worked out.

OR, maybe I am just ignorant to the laws that exist in Cali and your system will work for what you need it to do???

Actually there will be 2 matching exhausts tips in the next couple days. The filter will have what I call the K&N sock over it. It will also have a complete splash shield as already mentioned. I just posted a couple days before all the little necessary extras where done because I couldn't wait any longer.
