Does cycleworld sell car helmets as well? I might sign up for a track school day at the DDT on August 19. Is this school good? Www.carcontrolschool.com

Ian Law puts on quality schools. I've never taken a course from them but i know a few people who instruct and they are top notch.

People tape their light for the same reason they tape their fenders and/lip kits.
Just to keep stone chips and damage to a minimum. There is a lot of debri flying around. They just dont want to mess up their cars.

the highway drive to and from mosport would put to shame any debree you might be seeing at the track, which is generally pretty clean

plus when you apply masking tape you are traping dust/dirt particles to the paint, then you rub that stuff in with your hand to make the tape stick

but go ahead, "protect" your car :/

I actually find DDT to be the easiest track to start on. Many front bumpers and lips have been lost at shannonville lol. My backyard is a junkyard full of battle scars for friends (luckily none of those parts are mine)

Didn't want to create a new thread just for this, so heres a little clip from my first ever track day yesterday. Completely stock FRS. I learned manual about a month ago and wasn't too comfortable downshifting so I stayed in second when I could have gone to third in the straight after the pit. Managed some heel-toe in 2 corners each lap but struggled a lot with doing them fast and at the right time.
