Mosport DDT Lapping this Saturday - only 65 dollars!
SPDA has been putting together a number of special beginner friendly competition and lapping days over the last few years.
This upcoming Saturday they are hosting a lapping day at Mosport DDT track for a mere 65 dollars if you pre-register, 85.00 at the gate. this is super cheap. SPDA is one of Ontario's premier car clubs (i'm a member) and they host well organized events. So for anyone that's been ignoring my please to enter time attacks (maybe you're not comfortable competing) come out to a pressure-free lapping day for what a dinner and amovie would cost you http://www.caslube.com/spdaevents/20...12-800px-w.jpg |
I think all the organizers out there know I work Saturdays. They're doing this just to torture me!! :mad0260::mad0259:

DDT is a great track for first time track goers.

I've got stuff to get done during the day, and by late afternoon I'll be at my buddy's cottage in Bobcaygeon. A 40 minute drive to Mosport on the Sunday would have been doable though... |
the powerade center is closer than mosport for most torontonians, at 6AM it's a 20 minute drive.
but whatever, you got life stuff  |
What time does the event end at?
Would love to come but I have an exam that day until 3... But yes, this is a fantastic price... |
Really interested in going to this event or beginner-friendly autocross - total racing noob here. I'm trying to find out what helmet rating is required / what is a good beginner brand - any tips?
|
there is no beginner brand helmet, only cheap, moderate, and expensive
if you're piss poor you can go with HJC, 100-170 depending BELL would be my recomendation, the open faced ones are around 200-250, full face 350-500 more expensive helmets are generally smaller and lighter, some come with features but you won't need those MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOUR HELMETS ARE SNELL APPROVED, this will ensure that your helmet is valid for almost any event in Ontario. some groups don't care if a helmet is only DOT approved, but some care whether it's SNELL approved, so if you don't have a snell sticker some places won't let you come out. i recomend Cycleworld out in the east end, JRP in the west end, and CSC racing in newmarket |
Hey 7th gear, if I don't have paypal any other alternatives to paying at the door?
Can I meet up with any1 in the GTA to pay? |
