I call BS on them not being noisy. My AD08R's are significantly louder than the RS3's I had before and comparable to the ZII's I hard before that.

Note that I meant they aren’t as noisy as the tires he listed.

Ah, fair enough. Compared to R888R's and RE71R's you're right.

I can elaborate on this a bit more, as I have quite a bit of tire testing experience at a manufacturer level.

If we compare apples to apples new tires that are scrubbed in with good tread, AD08R creates "white" noise, whereas the Z2 creates "pink" noise. RS3's tend to generate "brown" noise.

Effectively different spectrums of overall noise level output; the AD08R is the most well rounded, and each person's hearing will have different levels of sensitivity to different pitches.

In this regard, as you menioned, R888R and RE71R generate a much louder VOLUME of noise (amplitude), compared to the AD08R/Z2/RS3.

In terms of absolute volume, the AR08R is actually the quietest of the three street tires, albeit, still loud compared to a MPSS, or RC1.

I must be more sensitive to the pitch produced by the AD08R's then, because they are definitely the loudest tires I've had on this car. It's bad enough that the first month I had them on I thought a wheel bearing was shot. Swapped the snow tires on and it was silent again, so that was ruled out.

There's so many different variables, that it's entirely possible that AD08R are the loudest tire on the pavement/roads you drive on!

This is a large part of why I consider tire reviews to be so subjective, and why I try to take into account the largest sample of data I can.

E.g. on rough roads, RE71R are actually "fairly quiet", relatively speaking, while on smooth roads, they're even louder!

Read through reviews on TireRack. The contrast of reviews is comical. One guy will say it's the best tire ever made and the next guy will say the tires made his steering wheel shake when turning and it's the worst tire ever. Hahaha
