Looking for a few thoughts from fellow members here
Don't do the paint or interior protection.. It's all bs, not permanent and costs them bugger all.. And they say you have to use 'special shampoo'
I mean, good protection shouldn't need special shampoo..
Your best bet is to go to a professional detailer and get opticoat or ceramic pro 9h, it'll cost less compared to the dealership too

I only got reverse sensors and got tint chucked in for free

And be very clear about them matching the paint on the sensors.. Mine ended up being bright gloss white instead of being satin white pearl. It's very obvious..

Anyone else here have any paint matching issues?

I'm starting to lean more towards the reversing sensors..

The camera can be mounted fairly subtly if you use a decent installer. This was Northfield Car Audio.

An awful lot of people have trouble with the Satnav dropping out. Weirdly enough it doesn't drop on mine, has lost signal a grand total of once, and the Burnley tunnel is a pretty good excuse. But-- The problem is if most have a problem and only some are good, then you're more likely to be most than some. Don't risk it if you're buying a GT (it's included in GTS).

Parking sensors exist for the Japanese market but they're an aftermarket part with a dorky little screen anyway. The Japanese market also get front and rear parking cameras (but they're not compatible with our GTS, screened, headunit). Don't get a kit that replaces your mirror, it'll reduce your resale value for sure.

Personally I found my Nokia N9 connected fast with great sound quality, as does my Galaxy Nexus, but my Galaxy SIII 4G connects very, very, very slowly and bluetooth remote commands are sketchy...

EDIT; There's a nice SatNav headunit for the UAE/US made by Pioneer; Have a dig on AV stuff on here and you'll find it. Maybe find out what sort of maps it uses and if you can buy them? Japan gets a whole range of head units but to find details on them you'll have to really go digging unless you can get to Odaiba in Tokyo Bay and go to Megaweb.

Thanks for the info and heads up! I read this post a tad late though. I mentioned to the dealer if they threw in genuine Toyota interior illumination (probably worth 1/10 of this amount but priced at $275), I would do the deal. They ended up saying yes, so I got everything for $1.5k!

All in all even though it may seem a bit pricey, I think it was a good deal for those who want a bit of convenience and have everything done when the car arrives. I'm sure it's not really comparable, but "full price" totalled to atleast over $2.5k from Toyota. So those in the future looking to obtain some extra options added to their car feel free to reference this!

Just to chime in on the GPS dropout. My unit almost always tells me it has lost the GPS signal within about 30 seconds of startup, but the satnav doesn't actually lose track of the car's position. While this is fairly annoying, it doesn't actually affect the operation of the satnav in my case. It is a bit embarrassing when you have passengers though.

I haven't gotten my car yet, but I've got the GTS so the only dealer fitted option I got was the reverse sensors, but got them to do it for free.

I ordered a BRZ so I added
Heated leather seats ($1500)
Eclipse Sat Nav media centre ($1815)
Reversing camera ($465)
Boot carpet mat ($175)
BRZ floor mats ($175)
and a Auto transmission ($2500)

Total drive away price $44,172
How does this compare to a fully loaded GTS ??

My GTS auto I ordered in January was 42,100 total, It comes with everything you mentioned bar the reversing camera, and obviously the toyota satnav is give or take, depending who you ask. I think the my GTS comes with a rubber boot mat though, or some kind of plastic, I didn't really get a good look haha.
