Don't know if its possible, but maybe go the opposite route and add washers to the skid plate.

Not a "skid plate" in any case.
More like aero undercover fairing.

Adjust it to fair over the new bits.

I have a question.

It's my understanding that the 86 that is built for sale in Canada has more of the underneath panels than cars built for sale in the US.

Why is that .....??

Winter snow? I would imagine it's easier to coordinate by country rather than specific states within the US. Cars manufactured & sent to the US could go to anywhere from Texas to North Dakota. Canada probably sees heavier snow as well? Or they have different regulations. Just my guess not based on info as I live in perfect weather California

They use a firmer rubber than the stock bushings. I installed the sti trans mount at the same time, and took a couple of pictures next to the stock parts. Engine movement has been significantly reduced and shifting improved.
Well then I'll get the sti mounts then. Saves me a few bucks too

I banged the skid plate with a lump hammer and added 3 washers on the front to lower it. I also louvered the skid plate to get rid of some heat. Works great.

The Euro GT86 also has the aero panels. But those are the reason why a FRS only costs 18k € and the GT86 costs 32k € (and we have the dual climate controls as well).

Oh, my ..... Ernest72, you REALLY went and messed up .....

First off, you used a BFH to do the work (waaay overkill).

Secondly, you lowered the front, which just negates any positive aero effects...

Thirdly, you cut louvers in the panel, which just set up a bunch of air turbulence under the car ......

Fourthly, you post this abortion of a mod on the internet ...... which gives the dealer and manufacturer all they need to refuse ANY future warranty work on your car......

So, when your car overheats and burns up the plug coils, fries the ECU and spins a rod bearing, don't be surprised ...

Sorry about your car.

humfrz: AND heated seats! AND foglights! AND only needed for women sun visor lights .. wait. Still too expensive . Even more so that we DON'T get power improvement and improved intake/headers, having it like your AT ones.

Funny post. it is lowered by millimeters and louvers work. Its a DD, so aero is literally worthless. Coated header gives off less heat then stock. Could care less about a warranty. I have a modded WRX since 2003 and no issues with 125k, still going strong. Subaru's are tough if you take care of them.
