^ Yeah, well then what we have suggested should be fine - 4-6GB DDR3 RAM, i5 700 series proccessor (IMO), reasonable HDD, MAYBE an external Video Card (but not a hard gaming-oriented one), Motherboard that fits it all together, and a clean case to sit in your living room (Think Antec 300 style ). All of that should come together at around/just under your budget... I think.

From experience.. an integrated gfx card in the mobo isn't the greatest thing. :/ If that fries, the whole mobo fries. I'm not saying your guys's opinion are wrong but if ichi wants to watch 1080pi movies a gfx card would be nice.

And for the pre-made ones at best buy and such. I don't recommend it--unless you are completely uneducated with pcs. The thing about the pre-made computers are the bloat ware, and if I remember correctly removing the brand's bloatware invalids your warranty. Then you end up starting on ground zero again.

Also, asus comes equip with Turbo V which manages how many CPUs run. Ichi won't have to worry about OCing his rig nor really worry about overheating.

And yes I did overlook the wireless. Dang. Thanks for pointing that out. :P

I don't know if you have any brands in mind, but this is my suggestion. Also, you need wireless so you will have to buy a usb dongle. Here are a few:

However, I'd recommend you pick one from the same brand as your router. Also, there is no monitor in the PC I chose for you because I assumed you would connect it to your TV, so do you need a PC monitor?

Either way, you'd still be looking at roughly the same specs, but it's going to cost you a s**tload more to do the same job.

It's REALLY not hard to build a computer, there's really not much that can go wrong with them, as long as you keep periodically grounding yourself to the case as you work and as long as you get the CPU installed right, there isn't really much else that can go wrong. Just download a cracked copy of Win 7 and you'll have about the cheapest, fastest computer you'll be able to get There are a HEAP of guides on the internet about how to assemble it, and installing Windows is a peice of piss....

Still, if you insist on buying one already made, then go for it, but expect to be getting ripped off a little...

Like I mentioned earlier, fully pre-made PCs are full of bloatware (for ichi's sake. It means useless software).

^ Yup, and that bloatware thing too... Used to hate that stuff on my old Acer Laptop. Tried to uninstall the wireless assistant thing and the wireless wouldn't work anymore! Had to download it again on another computer... because I rarely use backups!

Edit: Ichi - Or there are actually some companies (not meaning ones like Dell) that build computers for you, if you give them a budget and some rough specs, these usually turn out cheaper than thier pre-built counterparts (though not as cheap as building it yourself), but it saves you the trouble of learning how to build a computer and means you have somewhere to take it back to if something goes wrong with it! Also means it's built by people that have built computers before, and know what they're doing!

Still, it's a good thing to learn, so you might want to at least look at that path and see if you think you can do it!

If anything get a slightly faster hard drive...drop some money on a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB or if that's too much a Samsung Spinpoint F4. SSD is a bit too expensive right now at $1.6/gb or so
CPU...doesn't really matter, I'd personally grab a Sandy Bridge i5-2500 or whatever the number is. 4GB memory, they're all about the same so go cheap. Good motherboards are not necessary imo, most people don't need 1/4 of the features offered. The integrated graphics is fine for non-gaming. Video is very easy on graphics.

PSU don't go too cheap, because even if you don't care about efficiency or low noise, the fan might drive you crazy and I've heard of cheap ones burning out.

Monitors actually come pretty cheap, 1920x1080 brand new is only like 130-140 dollars nowadays.

LOL no, I don't know how to build custom pc. When it come to electric/pc I'm totally clueless. That's why, I don't touch electric/wiring stuff on my car lol

Hm... don't mind buying parts and building it... just not sure it's good idea to make those spec pc from the start and expect to work without problem. I do have a friend that can build it for me. He have made several custom pc for his family... but problem is it take forever for him to do it (few week project turn into few month project).

@Snaps - Store custom pc is something I thought too. I might look into that option too.

@Giccin - Thanks for explaining. Took me long time to figure out what "Mobo" you guys were talking bout. Mobo - MotherBoard right?

Honestly, my current computer is the first one I built myself. I also had no clue how to assemble a computer before that. A few weeks on-and-off of google searching and reading guides and I was pretty confident about how to build one. As I said, unless you physically break something, or short circuit the boards with static electricity (very unlikely), you can't really mess it up. EVERY part slots in to the motherboard, you don't need to do any soldering or the like, and you CANNOT put any wrong power plugs into any wrong ports - they're all shaped a specific way. Things like the RAM only slot in one way, etc.

Well ichi, if you ever plan on building the PC.

1. Make sure you have no static on you. You can do this by touching metal.

2. Work in the garage with a cardboard box as the table cover.

Yea what Snaps said is right. I actually found online guides a little confusing, but when I actually got the stuff for my first computer it was really easy. The only mistake I made was not putting motherboard spacers in, which I quickly realized because it didn't fit correctly :O
