Google is only so handy when you know what you want to research. Seems like you're the one constantly trolling my threads with negativity.

Anyways, Mr.Google expert, what exactly should I have typed in to get the answer I was looking for?
it's because you used the word rims.

literally.

rim is the outer most part of a wheel. rim is designated as the tire bead part "J" flange.

that's why when people use rim, I usually as "just the rims or the whole wheel?"

I figured it was just semantics but I've seen people make fun of "rims" but I didn't see how they could possibly be different

its just one of those things you usually grow out of when you're more educated/older/wiser.

like the whole clips vs magazines in terms of guns.

rims just make you seem uneducated, and ignorant on the subject and gives off the impression that your daily vocabulary consists of "suhhhh dude" "ya vape bro?" combinations of the word "bro" in every pause of a regular sentence, social media "buzz words" and general teenage slang.

...and that's why it's fucking annoying to use rims.

i guess problem of 'wheels' might be that it's a bit more generic word. For example, also steering wheel / flywheel and alikes, that may mix in results. Maybe that's the reason if rims return more focused results?
As for cool or not .. it's just which term is more widely used in which country. One thing is US, another UK, for example. Wheels-rims, tyres-tires, header-manifold .. many generic terms may differ.

no because each of those examples have a rim because a rim from the dictionary says:

rim1
rim/Submit
noun
1.
the upper or outer edge of an object, typically something circular or approximately circular.
"a china egg cup with a gold rim"
synonyms: brim, edge, lip
"the rim of her cup"

you do realize replacing letters for numbers has been around since pretty much the internet and computer technologies using "passwords" and variations in passwords, right?
