Okay, good discussion, thanks. Sounds like the BRZ gets the panels under the engine and trans, but not the big belly panels under the passenger compartment or the panels under the gas tank.
And, yeah, I understand the two photos I referenced are from opposite perspectives, but still illustrate the difference I was mentioning. |

I wonder if the RH version will make it so the FT86 panels will not work on a US car. Hope not. I want these. I always wanted to have a functional diffuser on my street car.

We probably wont get all the under-panels which is a shame, it sucks that the U.S. cars are always "watered down" a bit.

There is this panel on the left side. Its really just for covering brake and fuel lines.
1- Large plastic shield 2- Thick Aluminum Panel 3- Fiberglass woven nylon panel 4- One plastic under panel Best part is there are threaded holes on both sides to accepct the JDM parts. But like you said, its watered down a bit. |

Huh interesting... If I had a shop, I'll make my own design under panel... but sadly, I don't have a shop

Really easy (and considerably cheaper) just to either fab up some aluminum or plastic panels stateside or make a mold for some FRP parts.

Here are the coefficients of drag based on the new BRZ digital brochure and what Toyota has published.
No Spoiler/no underbody panels: 0.29cd Yes spoiler/no underbody panels: 0.28cd Yes spoiler/yes underbody panels: 0.27cd <-- I'm deducing Not necessarily dead weight if there's benefit to the cost. But I might lower my car and it'd be painful having hundreds of dollars of underbody panels get scraped/dented up by unforgiving dips/bumps in the road.
