Undercarriage aero panels: Not on US BRZ?

First off, hello! I've got a BRZ per-ordered here in the Midwest (no VIN yet, no delivery info either). I've been lurking here for info and this site has been great for feeding my obsession for this car.

Now then, I've searched the forums for info on this topic and came up empty, so I apologize if it's been mentioned. I found this picture when looking for a new desktop wallpaper. It shows some neat underbody panels to give the BRZ a fairly flat bottom. The other pictures of the car in this wallpaper collection are right-hand drive and I'm guessing this is the JDM specific car.
Talking with a friend, he noted that the JDM STi got fancy under body aero panels when the US-market STi did not. Furthermore, I found this picture of a Scion FR-S that shows no such panels available. This has me thinking that the US BRZ doesn't come equipped with these panels. Can anyone confirm this?

I know the Toyota 86 has them and the FR-S doesn't. Haven't seen anything about them on the US/Canada BRZ yet.

Same goes for the Lexus IS as well. :|

Japan/Europe had them on all models, USA had them on 09 models only (and all IS-F).

I'd like to get them for my 2011 IS.

None of the cars on USA soil have had the full underbody paneling. Hopefully a dealership/vendor will belly up and offer them for sale as a package.

I believe we get all of them up to the long floor pan ones. The panels under the gas tank are the ones we don't get.

Shipping some of those from Japan/EU is going to suck...

On the Scion FR-S it doesn't get the long ones or the ones under the fuel tank, again not sure of the BRZ, but the low and high spec Toyota 86/GT86 does get the complete set.

:\

Yeah, the GD STI lost a couple underside panels on the trip to the US also. But when you can buy a car on the other side of the planet from the factory for cheaper than you could if you were just down the road, there will be some trimming done.

Agreed, costs must be cut somewhere.

The pictures you posted are taken from opposite directions. The BRZ from the rear towards the front, the FRS from the front towards the rear. This gives a different image of the panels.

frist of all the 2 pictures are taking from diffrent ends.

2nd, if you look closer, the FRS does actually have similar (95% exact) to that of the ones in the blue car picture. i believe the FRS has removed 1 left mid section panel for the picture.

so i do believe that US versions do actually have those panels or someting of 95% similar.

Still no aero benefit?

I'm sure it provides some aero benefit (I'm guessing very little)...just not as much as a fully covered underside would.

This is what I would like to add to my future BRZ.
