Will do. Hope I didn't sound too much like a douchebag with my last post. It was very early when I wrote it, didn't mean to sound like such an a$$. I'm sorry if I did!

Why does it feel like every few pages this thread just goes right back in circles to people just now figuring out the difference between the valvetrain noise and the chirping fuel pump WITHOUT READING THE THREAD?

No CEL, probably not broken, so don't try to fix it.

How's the insulation holding up?

Works well when warm outside. Poor when colder (55 degrees and below). I still feel indifferent about it. I go long periods where I don't hear chirps, then a cold spell hits and they come out in force. I honestly wouldn't bother with the insulation unless it at least eliminates them when the temps are warm.

You just reminded me, I should bug Toyota again to see if anything is being even attempted at this point at finding a new manufacturer of this fuel pump. In case anyone is wondering, the company Champion makes our fuel pumps.

This thread is 180 pages. I think your expectations are a little high.

Agreed. There should be some kind of sticky thread with all the facts we know so far for people to go to. That could help cure the cycle.

Tell me one person who will read 180 pages of chirping fuel pump issues! If there was ever a fix a new thread would be started.

I've read it all, Matt's read it all and we're not the only ones, moderators generally check every post to make sure feelings aren't getting hurt.

Seriously like 2-3 pages of reading is enough to assuage most fears, and yet some people are still posting about noises in here that aren't crickets.

You just have to google 'FRS/BRZ cricket' to get a great video of the noise but nope, 'hold my hand I don't know I'm scared'.

The internet hasn't changed in 20 years and I don't expect it to but don't be self righteous about how you can't do your due diligence on a $25k purchase.

Would that be a subaru or Toyota issue? Did subaru choose the hpfp supplier or did Toyota?

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

That sounds like a nice political battle in the making. Considering both cars chirp the same I would say the same company is supplying both models just under different part numbers.

Next solution, whatever it may be, they are going to disassemble my fuel pump completely and find out why this supposed "fixed pump" is chirping again. This was the last response I heard about 3 months ago. Losing faith.

Matt, I made my post about the changing nature of my chirping. You may recall that I was the first to post of the Oct 2013 revised pump for scion, and last week the crickets went from mild to wild. This week it is more of a ratcheting/clattering sound that is very loud, yet intermittent. I posted the new noise as it has been the progression of my new fuel pump. I hope you weren't talking about what I posted as part of the circles, but I felt it pertinent to point out- as this has been the evolution of my crickets.

I am not very good with card and don't know the jargons and not a mechanically inclined in any way, shape or form.

So ecstatic when I received my GTS86/Automatic Transmission and ran so smooth for the first few days, although I started hearing a strange and faint rattling noise coming from the engine on the driver's side, as the subaru motor makes its grunts that I do like hearing.
Now, i may be paranoid, but is this 'faint rattling' sound, the one that sounds like the old wheel from the 'wheel of fortune', the sound which is being described as 'chirping', if so, then I am also suffering from it and afraid of the long term damage this may cause to the engine.

I have not yet contacted the dealer, but I will today and see what they say.

I have come to the conclusion that they(crickets) are here to stay! Third fuel pump, the "fixed" one and within ~500 miles the chirps returned. They come and go and over time I think I have resigned myself to the fact that they will always be there. That being said I have my 22,500 check coming and will once again voice my displeasure to the poor Service Manager and ask what the next step is. Knowing deep in my heart that nothing will be done.
Meanwhile I will just enjoy driving the shit out of this car as it is a blast on the road.
