Also Ronnie/Jesse, what tool are you guys using to torque these nuts around the crazy bends on the runners? 0 issues getting to two of them, but there's one on both sides that is rough to hit with an extension and knucklejoints.

I believe Ronnie posted a pic on one of their other threads but I believe they used a 1/4 extension and a knucklejoint to get the socket all up in there. Also I first had the Grimmspeed gaskets on but ended up switch to OEM ones and it fixed my leak that i had.

Wait switched back to OEM gaskets and the leak stopped? Has this occurred for anyone else?

Might have to try deep sockets this round. Have those same tools available. Thanks for pulling that up.

Sounds strange, the Grimmspeed gaskets are thicker than OEM. Hopefully I don't have to go OEM... guess I will check for a leak when I work on the header.

I'm going to try to get my JDL UEL put on Monday. Will see if the shop will get OEM gaskets for me, I don't trust that the originals will be in pristine shape when they pull off the stock manifold.

I've gotten a bung put behind the cat in the catted front pipe. Using this extension...

to move the second o2 sensor back behind the cat. Don't want to hack up my stock sensor if I don't have to. Hopefully this will make the computer happy....not sure when I'll get a tune, but it won't be real soon. Need something fairly long term to scare away the CELs.

You can get 3/8s in there but its a little tighter

Correct, however, this was on one of the original UEL headers that had the Vibrant flex joints and i think it was more of an issue with fitment. I am now using the OEM gaskets on the revised header without any issues or leaks

I loosened the outer bolts on the flange and was able to get more turns out of the inner bolts. I then retightened the outer bolts. Unfortunately it is still leaking (the clicking/ticking sound may have even gotten worse), with a definite exhaust odor though I don't see any smoke coming out from anywhere.

I guess I'll try putting the OEM gaskets back on and see if that helps, although I am skeptical. I also have an extra gasket that I can throw on to the overpipe connection that looks a little better than the one that came with the headers but I don't believe the leak is coming from there. Last resort will be to take it to a shop but I'd hate to have to pay somebody for something that I should be able to do myself.

Leak aside, they really are awesome headers and the car loves them. Not too mention, that incredible sound spewing out of the tailpipes.

Try torquing it down way past the 22ft*lbs. I remember me and my friends did it the first time around. At first we just did whatever felt about there. After a few days we came back and tightened it way way down, and there was zero leaks!

This time I did 22ft*lbs and there is a slight leak, then again, I haven't retightened them properly.

I may go to 25-27 ft lbs which shouldn't really affect it. Hopefully this upcoming weekend I'll get a chance to work on it.
