Maybe the header comes up into that area? I have not yet seen any pics of it installed, but it looks like that may be the case.

Perhaps it interferes with the header piping that comes up to the engine bay?

I'm not so much worried about the plug, i'm sure they can tell me where that goes pretty easily. I'm more concerned about the rumored 9-12" lifting of the motor. 1-2" for the overpipe is one thing, but 9-12? That's HUGE.

Agreed, was planning on lifting the engine and installing motor mounts with this piece anyway, but lifting the engine 9" makes me a bit uncomfortable.

There is simply no way you have to lift the engine that far if at all for this header. Whoever told you that is fucking with you

Anyway I need a good picture top view looking at the crank pully. ;-)
Sits more like 4" in front and 3-6" above the crank pulley.

I hope so! I just heard back from John @ Nameless. It doesn't sound too bad.

For those who have (or might have) similar questions over the next couple days, here was the response:

Quote:
The plug is to block off the resonator on the factory intake just before the throttle body on the bottom of the runner hose that attaches to the intake.

Installation is simple. Unbolt the passenger side engine mount and lift the engine up (leave the driver side mount attached) until the passenger side stud is about 1/4" above the surface of the subframe. Remove the factory manifold, then install your new manifold. The new one fits in, it just goes in a very specific way that you have to find by putting it in and moving it around.

John just sent that to me as well, but here it is

Reuse the header gaskets that you took off with the factory manifold."

The way the header is shaped, it certainly looks like it could, or at least come close enough to melt the plastic since the resonator on the underside of the intake tube hangs down a good 3-5 inches.

Engine mounts don't need to be loosened to install. I just unhooked the passenger side fan connection and moved it out of the way and moved the overpipe back a few inches and it cleared just fine.

Don't mind the iPhone pics. Install was pretty easy and the header is pure porn

The fan looks alarmingly close... Seen turbo manifolds melt those, but presumably they also get much hotter.
