That would be cool if you got the job, considering you were late since your car was on the dyno at the time.

much love for FA20Club and Tony. He taught us a lot of cool shit in between running around tuning cars all day in the heat.

There's a good life lesson, don't schedule dyno time and a job interview back to back. I wouldn't want to try and explain that one. >.<

Not that I'm one to talk, no one at my work knows why I was desperately twisting arms to get Friday off. I bet they think I had a family member die or something.

If you decide to get headers, you'll be wishing you had a muffler. Trust me.

Ya. It was pretty funny because I tried to explain why I was late and they didn't know what a dyno was or that you could tune a car for more power. Then they wanted to go see my car and asked me all kinds of questions.

My scheduled time was 9am for the dyno, but I didn't arrive early enough, and tony took as long on my car as Marin's first tuning session.

Been keeping an eye on this thread as I'm undecided on Vortech or the Innovate Supercharger.
How were the results between the two superchargers with Tony's tuning? any dyno charts available comparing stock to the superchargers?

Both kits perform well IMO. The Vortech unit is going to make more power up top no matter what, it's intercooled and has a few more options out as far as pulley sizes. The Innovate makes instant torque down low that is very usable, it's super low maintenance wise and wakes the car up just enough to have fun. If you're in the African heat as your profile shows than you're going to want to make sure if you go Innovate than wait till the intercooled version is out. Heat is what kills the power on the Innovate vs the Vortech.

Heat and or bad fuel = use vortech. The innovate will just make you cry. But with quality fuel, e85 and or an intercooler.... the innovate is a fun "simple" upgrade. Vortech is much more complicated with belts etc. But side by side in our region the vortech kit on pump fuel is superior IMO due to fuel issues in Arizona / California. And dont get me wrong i absolutely LOVED the innovate on E85. It was a whole different ordeal at that point. It ran amazing, had amazing torque in the low end, and just felt wonderful!

We will be posting dynos soon, i need to get a few more from the shop. Once @evo4g63 gets his hand on an intercooler I am sure we will have some really nice "upgraded" supercharger comparisons as well. we both ran stock for stock kit, and then switched fuels. However I ran out of time and was unable to tune on my stock pulley for low boost for comparison on E85 vs the stock pulley on innovate so that will have to come at another time.

We both had done fuel upgrades and out of the box i was able to add a pulley with ease. Even with the high boost pulley the intercooler on the vortech made tuning an easier job than with the innovate on our horrid fuel in this area.

P.S. I have sent the majority of yo your dyno's! I am missing jeremys and a few before & afters. If i somehow forgot your dyno PM/Email me asap!

Ill post up me vs keith once i get my street fuel dyno. I'll have Joe send me over a direct comparison of street fuels

This shows the serious torque of the innovate when compared tuner for tuner, fuel for fuel.

Teal = 91 Octane Innovate
Purple = E85 Innovate
Red = E85 Vortech + High boost pulley (3.125")

Even with the larger pulley i fail to get near the low torque of the innovate. But after 5k my torque just overwhelms the innovate.

Edit: i over-layed these photos, i kept the numbers on the right from the overlay so you can verify. I will get an actual overlay from the dyno its self later this week. the RPM plot was exact on both of our plots.

It will be interesting to see how efficent the Innovate is when there is an intercooler on it and a smaller pulley. As of current there is not much floating around for charts on that charger to see where exactly we are in the efficiency zone.

All in all both products are wonderful. I love both kits for what it is. If you want lots of power the vortech just tears it up and is available right now. in the US we do not have intercooler setups for the Innovate as of yet. Also the vortech can be upgraded (but if your concerned with high power you may want to look into a turbo instead).

I have first hand snapped my belt, the night of the dyno event. It was horrible. It destroyed multiple pulleys and we are still not 100% sure the cause. It was likely due to the smaller pulley & the original belt supplied by vortech being too large for the small pulley. We have since switched it and are testing.

I think me and keith are both pleased with the superchargers we chose for our different desires. I would definitely do a vortech my self again and i think Keith would likely stay innovate if he did it again as well. At least... as of this week now that we had @FA20Club.com fly down and tune these cars for us. It was night and day difference on that innovate after it was tuned by Toni.

We will post a comparison with more info once we get the other plots & possibly do further testing.

Our fuel is just as bad if not worse than yours, with our top fuel 95RON being the same as your 91 OCT. as you pointed out I'm on the coast and its very hot and humid so a Intercooler would be a must.
I'm looking for a spirited 86 that has plenty pull through the gears and not necessary the fastest at top end.
Simple installation with OEM look would be choice, to help maintain warranty with my dealership, with less maintenance the better.

So taking the above into consideration, what would be best.

Intercooled innovate. You should be able to get it if not in the US. We're the only ones screwed by this. Install of the non-intercooled one took 3-4 hours, maintenance is pretty easy and it looks pretty OEM. It's not the fastest thing in the world, but there's a ton of torque and power down low and across the midrange where you use it 95% of the time.
