Did my first autocross event a couple weeks ago and had a blast. Can't wait to get out to the next event next month.

Did my first event in my BRZ (went to a couple in my FR-S) on Sunday. Was a blast. I think D Street is calling me.

So it looks like the Civic Type R will be provisionally in DS for now...

It will certainly be interesting to see how they perform.

At this point DS should stand for Diverse Street.

As I understand it, they have provisionally classed it DS in order to provoke feedback. So, write your letters if you think it should be in BS with the Sti, Focus RS.

Not having driven, or even seen one, I'm not sure. From what I hear though, it's pretty dang fast with a great diff. 0-60 in under 5 seconds. Seems like an overdog in DS as it stands. DS is finally doing great with the twins, and it would be a shame to make people think they have no chance and kill the class. More data is probably needed though.

Very interesting, take it with a grain of salt. I think more data is needed, but I think this will end up a BS car.

I can't imagine it won't be in BS given the articles I've seen about the dyno numbers, power to weight is damn close to the FoRS which if you actually watch autox is basically a fwd car anyway, they should be pretty evenly matched, especially around an autox course.

I'm so damn sick of them playing with the classes. I get conflicting statements from everyone on the SAC and SEB I talk to.

I've been told it fits the "spirit of D-Street" but what the hell is the spirit of DS when it has so many completely different cars?

I've been told they like to class the popular cars favorably but the twins are looking at 2-3 years straight of having major overdogs in their class.

And I've been told that the Civic Type-R will be too popular to be in BS because it will be buried and non-competitive so it should go to DS. Was also told it can't go to CS because it's too different from the Miata. Clearly it's not too different from the twins?!
