Best you will get with crash bolts is -1.5* up front. Also, if you end up going with bigger wheels/tires you start to hit the spring perch/spring at about 1.5* as well.

Camber plates are good option for getting extra.

you can run a camber bolt in each hole. im sure some will warn against it, but a couple of us on here have ran it that way for awhile. as long as you can torque the bolts to factory specs, it shouldn't be an issue.

Just keep a margin. There is nothing like the Ring, everything is boring in comparison.

It's hard to decide between driving Spa at 100% or the ring at 90%

Being 1h drive from one another, you can totally do both on a weekend.
On the other hand, expecting to go 90% on your first visit is the first step to get your very own guardrail section.

I was thinking 90% after the learning process

I did this to my TRD air box, and did some data logging, and I can say it made little to no diffrence for my intake temps for spirted street driving.

The airbox on the 86 is far from the exhaust and pulls air from a cool source under the bumper so I imagine there would be little impact

On my R53 track car I have a top mounted intercooler while the airbox is retardedly close to the headers - I suspect there may be a little to gain

I will do anything to cut down my heat soak ... at this point id give richard simmons a blowey

If you think you have performance to gain (and safety for the engine) go for it. I'd personally use some of the woven heat tape (with foil covering) instead of the foil tape that's so popular, only because the foil tape is really only effective on radiant heat while the woven stuff is a good insulator.

Does your R53 have well sealed ducting to the top mount? I know that they weren't sealed amazingly well from the factory and can benefit from simple mods to seal and improve the ducting.

No its not a tight seal and when i upgrade to the forge motorsports IC it will be even worse.

THe woven heat tape is basically an exhaust wrap right ? I would think it would be most appropriate to wrap the exhaust and foil the airbox

My fabrication/racecar wizard guy is telling me I really need to vent the hood near the headers.

I am also thinking about routing a HVAC tube to basically take air from the front and dump it on the top of the headers to prevent the air from rising as much (not sure if that will work

but basically im not super stoked about my engine temps and i dont want to blow the motor. ... I will be getting an oil cooler on the car next month

Get one of those snazzy air diverter things.

The woven tape is essentially header wrap, yeah. The stuff I used on my GTI has a foil covering to reflect radiant heat as well.

Venting the hood at the rear will be tough because it's a high pressure zone. Might be more effective to put a NACA duct directing air down over the header.

What kind of temps are you seeing? With a proper oil cooler I've not heard of any major issues on the R53s besides IATs due to heatsoak.

The only suggest I've seen regarding crash bolts above and below is that you may want to retorque them now and then.

FWIW I rented a car to run the ring this April, and it was $200 Euro extra for insurance that had an excess of $2500 Euro, but included recovery and Armco damages.

That was on a track prepped Swift.

I think the cost was the same for the faster cars, just that the excess (or deductible) was higher.
