Well coming from a guy that drives a commuter that is faster than this car, I've to say I'm a little afraid that I'll be missing the confidence of pushing the gas in the interstate when and idiot is refusing to move from the left lane.

Sure I'll have tons of fun with it, but I just realized today, that aside of my new Accord, every other car I had and still have is faster than the BRZ.

And this is supposed to be my first actual sports car. It definitely feels weird.

I picked what I did because it's affordable, fun, and there is nothing else like it on the road. If I was going to spend $35-$40k I'd have gotten a Boss 302 and called it a day.
I second this. I came very close to buying a Boss. i wanted something for canyon carving and both the gt86 and Boss could do it. I just did not want to pay 800 dollars a month to do it.

i must also ask you guys who are talking about overtaking someone on the road, Just how fast are you driving?

i mean When I'm driving, I drive the speed limit.

If I approach someone who's driving less than the speed limit and the lane(s) next to them are vacant then I just flip on the indicators and go around them. If the lane(s) aren't free, I just slow down.

If I suspect a Driver is being fiddly with their brakes or whatever, I'll just switch lanes or even pull back. I've found many drivers are pre-occupied so it's best to pull back and avoid them.

there are solutions for issues dealing with slow/wonky drivers.

I don't see how "we need a factory turbo" would be a solution

all that said, I'm not against Subaru offering a turbo. But those who keep saying that this car needs a turbo for overtaking regular joes and janes on the road, I don't see your logic.
Same here. Sounds to me like most of the problem is behind the steering wheel and not in the engine.

You're right, you could get them for much less. One of my buddies bought a brand new one in Illinois back in 2002 for under $29,000. My dad bought his new one in 2005 for around $1000 under MSRP.

and to the other person who mentioned pricing for the S2000 compared to a potential BRZ Turbo now in 2013, since when does technology and performance not trickle down? This argument is nothing but a fallacy.

Seriously...

My 165hp impreza kept up just fine with all the guys in modded STI's on the road and most of the time on the track. I can't wait to see their faces when they can't keep up with me in the BRZ with sticky tires :p

You want people to use math and reason in a debate?

People seem to forget that the Triplets are really just an RWD RSX(loosely speaking of course) and at the same price point after inflation.

They're $26,000 each and the minimum order is two. I wouldn't consider that a genuine factory option. That's the price of two brand new FR-S. Hell, for the price of one of those superchargers you could pay Crawford Performance to install one of their time-attack engines.

You have to remember that it's compounded like interest over time. $35k might be $45k today, but $25k isn't $35k today, it's $32.5k and $45k is $58.4k.

I assume "steering wheel button" is a bad translation that is referring to the oval STI badge on the airbag (Is "badge" and "button" - the kind of button that you'd pin to your shirt - maybe the same word in Japanese?).

True. But the interior and general build quality of the RSX is much better. I take that as a trade-off to having RWD and an LSD though.
