Anyone here have both a GR Supra and an FR-S/86? Trying to see how the trunk compares to each other. I can fit a lot of stuff in my FR-S, especially with the rear seats down.

the GR Corolla for example has a manual handbrake, while the rest of the Corolla lineup has an electronic ebrake. |

Can you imagine that in a few years, the kids of our kids, or my future kids, will say, as they learn to drive on the BRZ, if you keep it "Pop/Dad, what is that lever by your right arm and that stick in the middle, and why does this car have 3 pedals" |

I'm giving up on getting a GR Corolla, so I might settle with the manual Supra if it can still be a good daily driver. |

My quick Googling doesn't reveal cargo volume of the 86 w/seats folded, but I can't imagine it's much more than the Supra. While the Supra's trunk is a bit oddly shaped, I'd think loading bulky stuff might be easier because you can go up a bit whereas the 86 is limited by the opening size (which appears smaller on the new one vs the older).
Like, I bet you could still fit four wheels and a jack in a Supra, they'd just be stacked on top of one another instead of side by side. |

There's no freaking way the trunk of an 86 is only 6.6 cubic feet. That has to be a typo.

Here's a Supra and LC500 (which has a tinier 5 cubic foot trunk but also has backseats that can be used) https://www.autoblog.com/2020/05/01/...-luggage-test/ https://www.autoblog.com/2019/10/22/...-luggage-test/ I think the LC can give you an idea of how you can use the space in an 86 vs a Supra... The Supra's trunk shape is weird (i think the 10 cubic feet is under the cover), and it doesnt seem to gain a whole lot from the openness of the hatch. and you're right up against hte seats already. |

https://www.caranddriver.com/scion/fr-s/specs As an example, with the seat down, this fit without rising above above the lower level of the rear window. Pretty sure that's more than 7 cubic feet of stuff.

Even with the seats up, I think the FRS has pretty usable cargo space. I guess I'll just have to find a Supra to put some bags in. LOL

Just travelled 3500km in our 86 with my daughter in the back and 2 months worth of stuff in the boot, including her bike. It was tight, but I’d say the 86 boot is pretty impressive.
